I know that in general the recommendation is not to eat past a certain point of the night (7:30 - 8 pm) regardless of what eating plan you follow, but I think that if it fits into that days plan and if you're a night owl (like me) then I say go for it. Sometimes I eat dinner at almost 9 PM because that's when I get my half hour break, and it's nothing I really have control over :/

Yes, I always have my snack later at night. I have to it is my worst time to crave things. My family (growing up and now) has always had ice cream treats in the evening after supper so I must have my snack at night! I also have breakfast at 10 a.m. though.

Me too my snack is always taken between 9 and 11:30 pm and it hasent affected my losses at all. Just make sure you take it so your calorie count is good for the day. If you dont have enough calories your body will go in starvation mode and your losses will be affected. Good luck.

I do often, if I didn't I wouldn't eat.

But, I am never in bed before midnight unless I'm sick. I think the 8pm is meant for people who go to bed by 10pm.

My snack time is random and depends on when I'm hungry. Sometimes it's between lunch and dinner, and others it's anytime between 8pm and when I go to bed, usually before 11pm. Sometimes, I'll even have my snack, then go right to bed. My coach said it will not affect my wieght loss, and it doesn't matter when I eat it. Her only comment was that I MUST eat the snack, and should NEVER skip it.

I have my snack later at night as well. I work out really early in the morning and I noticed a huge difference to how I felt when I had my snack late vrs earlier in the evening .

There have been a couple of times I had my snack at 4:30 and dinner late..about 8:00, my coach said that was ok. Just make sure you get all meals in, so your body doesn't go into starvation mode.

I also always have my snack late. It's my treat for being good and I look forward to it. On rare occasions I have missed it or only eaten half of it because I ate too late and just wasn't hungry.

Jonsgurl, I intend to start working out again and I would be doing that between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Do you have a bar BEFORE you work out in the morning? What do you eat right after?

I enjoy a delicious chocolate shake shortly before I head off to bed, whenever that is. I don't notice it impacting anything in a negative way.

My couch said I should eat it within an hour of going to bed so I have protein in my system while I sleep.
