Default 2 days left on P1 & need advice

Last night we went to the fair and at the last minute we decided to eat there instead of at home like we previously planned. Fair foods are not p1 friendly! I ended up getting a fried fish plate. I peeled the cornmeal off the fish and ate the fish part, and then like an idiot I shoved about 4 fries in my mouth and I tried to justify it by trying to tell myself that I was probably good because I was so close to the end of p1.

So this morning I wake up and come back to reality and remember "NO CHEATING ON P1!!!. So my question is, should I start P1 over and go another 2 weeks, add a few more days of p1 or just continue where I left off and go to P 1.5?

Thanks!

I've actually been trying to lose weight since the beginning of the year. I was counting calories but decided to switch to SB for health reasons, I need to be on a low simple carbs diet because I have insulin resistance. I've lost about 4 lbs on p1. Any loss is a great loss!

4 fries probably won't set you back. It's all about getting rid of cravings so that will be your barometer. If your cravings are gone I'd move on to 1.5. If you still have them add a couple of days and see how you feel. Fair foods aren't any phase friendly. I've been to a few this summer for work and just had to bring nuts and lots of water and eat before and after.

The thing that irritated me is I could have gotten a cheese steak with peppers, mushrooms & onions and had them cook it with no added oil and no bread. I didn't see that booth until we were leaving. At least that would've been semi SB friendly.

On the positive side. I had already started detoxing from simple carbs about 2 weeks prior to P1 because that's when I first found out I have IR. I had 0 cravings after I ate last night and 0 cravings today, I didn't even see an increase on the scale this morning so I'm just going to move on to 1.5 after tomorrow.

Thanks for your post.

In my opinion, phase 1 can be hard to stick to. Why torture yourself and set yourself up for a real cheat by restricting yourself to p1 for a whole extra week! Again, this is just my opinion.

Bread-less cheesesteak doesn't sound much healthier to me! Maybe at home, but not at a fair. I think you should still feel good about the progress you've made! I say move on, these things happen...it is life after all!

Your post is so timely! I came scouting the boards because I had a similar experience yesterday and I am also on Day 12 of P1. I was at a wedding all day yesterday (an epic 8 hour affair) and by the time I got to dinner, I was stunned that there was nothing I could eat! It was a very casual BBQ wedding and nothing was even close to P1 friendly!

But I had to eat! So I just did my best...and today I'm going to dust my self off, take an aleve for my carb headache, and get back on the horse today. I contemplated doing another week of P1, but I'm not sure that it would really matter this late into P1. I'm going to finish out P1 and then move to 1.5 on Tuesday as planned, unless anyone with more experience would just suggest I move to 1.5 now.

Hang in there!

I always try to keep a piece of string cheese &/or nuts in my purse so I have something to eat when faced with less than friendly SB choices. I've even kept some deli meat, veggies or SB compatible dressing in a small container too. With SB you really have to plan ahead & can't depend on places having SB compatible food. Then when I'm starving I can eat something to tide me over until I can get home or find another place to eat.
