Hi everyone! So happy to be here.
Celebrating this weekend and next week. This weekend, we just got approved for the apartment we really wanted. So today we went out to lunch and to a movie to have some fun and celebrate. And next weekend we are going out for our anniversary, either to a newport KY, or a big festival, or else to a casino (we're still deciding). So it's going to be a little bit of a struggle to keep eating healthy. But today, I went to buffalo wild wings and got a grilled chicken salad and only ate a few of his french fries and use the dip salad into the dressing trick to try to curb calories and tonight I'm only having a piece of chicken and some veggies for dinner to make up for the high calorie lunch / popcorn at the theatre.
Will only be around 2000 for the day, and that was a "cheat" day. So I am still on track! All things in moderation is what I keep telling myself.
Looking forward to the contest! Good luck everyone!

So I figured I would share a little about myself since we're going to be keeping up with one another for a while, it's nice to know everyone better.
I'm 26 years old and I've been dieting for a little over a year now. At my highest weight I was 280 lbs and absolutely miserable. I gained most of it when I went through a sever depression a few years ago due to losing my brother. I lost about 50 lbs in a year and that was not even being very strict. It has only been just recently that I've really been upping my game with adding exercise and lots of water.
Honestly, my motivations for losing weight is to first simply be happy with myself. Secondly, I have HUGE self esteem issues when I'm out and about with my boyfriend because he's a healthy weight and runs. I feel like a cow beside him. Thirdly, I love shopping for clothes and accessories but rarely indulge because I simply don't feel like anything looks that great on me. I know I'm very harsh on myself so I'll be glad when I finally start to loosen up.
Otherwise, I love reading, gaming, hanging with friends, my boyfriend and my dog. I love going to the river and swimming and hope to go white water rafting next summer. I like to hike but get winded fairly easily right now so I hope to enjoy it a lot more one day. I'm currently saving up spending money for that whole new wardrobe when I get down to my goal weight which I hope to reach by May of next year. All day shopping? Yes please!
Well, there's a bit for now. I hope to get to know you all better during the course of this!

Hi all! I thought I'd also share a bit about myself. I'm a 25 year old high school teacher and will be starting my 3rd year in the classroom in a few weeks already. I hit my highest weight last week... 261 pounds. I've been in denial about my weight for a long time and have yo-yo'd around 230-250 for a long time... living alone its been easy to emotional/stress eat my feelings away but when the scale hit 261 it was the ultimate wake up call.
I am currently calorie counting and also trying to work out. I've been doing at least an hour a day at the gym for the last week. While I know I won't be able to maintain that kind of time everyday once school starts back up I am aiming to make it there at least 4 times a week for an hour.
My motivations for doing this are simple... to be healthy, to find myself again (I've gotten lost in my career and furthering my degree), and to be able to once again shop at 'normal' stores.
I'm excited for this BL challenge... I'm a 'lurker' on the boards and come here almost daily for motivation and am excited to meet a new group of ladies. I've been a part of 3fc for a long time but haven't participated in any challenges lately.

Oh! Oh! Wanted to share for those that especially calorie count (or even if you're looking for nutritional value)...
If you have a smart phone, I highly recommend downloading the app MyFitnessPal. Makes it very easy to track your calories taken in and out. LOVE this app. While it does say that not all nutritional labels recorded in the app may be correct, I have yet to come across any that are incorrect (though that is not to say there aren't). Either way, I'd say give it a try and see how you like it.
Lets do this, ladies! (and any men that might be in this group!)

Question to pose to you all.
Truth be told I plan on heading up these challenges for a good long while I love doing it and I like the challenges. The siggy's What do you like about them and what do you wish to see changed? Any suggestions for what might work better for the next challenge?

Hey everyone! I'm excited for this challenge!!! The last 2 weeks have been on and off for me, and I am okay with that. We've had a lot going on. I had a baby in April and severe pneumonia, so May and June were mainly about recovering and getting my body ready to get healthy. I started calorie counting in June. Then July was about starting C25K and adding exercise to my routine!
So far I've lost 46 pounds (250 when I came home from the hossy with the baby, 204 today!) and I'm really ready to jump-start my progress again! Look forward to getting to know you ladies throughout this challenge.
SMS- looks great! I love the blinkies, they're beautiful!
