My minor NSV for the week: July 23rd was my 7 year anniversary of when I stopped chewing nicotine gum. I stopped smoking on 10 Dec 2002 but kept chewing the gum for another year and a half and finally quit chewing on 23 July 2004. I was so glad to stop chewing it because that gum was expensive too. And tastes terrible.
I read an article once about people who are chewing it over 10 years and some doctors said, "It's not ideal to chew for so long but it's still preferable to smoking."

Good morning, everyone! Here's to another fabulous week!

Things are good here, weighed in this morning at 168, which I'm guessing is water weight from the salty foods of the weekend, as I've done a pretty terrific job of staying on plan this weekend. Saturday my cals came in at 1552 (goal: 1550) and yesterday I came in at 1430 (goal: 1550). Its been hard to eat enough, actually, as its so darn hot here.

I only made it to the gym once last week, just because of running around and my little man got sick in the middle of the week, so this week my goal is at least 3 days, preferably 4. And water. Water, water, water!

What kind of foods do you like to make that are healthy and cool for the hot, hot weather? I need some ideas!

DH and I love to make hummus pita pockets, with hummus, kalmata olives, feta cheese, wheat pita pockets, artichoke hearts, and roasted red pepper. We just put everything on a plate and make as we go. Yum! That is a staple of our summer.

Well I've been away for a while, falling wildly off the wagon. Good news is I've not gained beyond my starting weight, bad news is I've not lost any. I'm trying to start this week newly focused, making good decisions most of the time and accepting that if I have a 'bad' day it doesn't mean I need to give up, just go back to making good decisions straight afterwards.

Have had a bowl of cereal and a couple of dates so far today, need to do some food shopping for dinner tonight but might snack on some raw veg before I go so I'm not hungry in the supermarket and I buy healthy choices for dinner this week.

Yesterday, I didn' track my calories until this morning and I was afraid I had ate too much. It was only 1077 calories, which is actually too little. It shows how important it is to not guesstimating my food intake.

I am checking in for accountability! Today I finally weighed again to see what the damage was.....DOWN 2 pounds! I am surprised! It should of been more if I was doing better...

I am very slowly making a life style change...trying my best to keep the Mountain Dews to 1 day instead of 3-4. The Banana Pudding probably did not help my weight loss in the week...I know...excuses...it is my decision to decide what and how much to eat.

So, I am checking in...and I am taking the 2 pound weight loss!

Hang in there everyone! Little changes in your life style make a difference!

Down .4 today which is amazing since I was on my feet all day yesterday getting ready to go and didn't get much sleep. About 5.5 hours. About ready to go. Goal is to get out of the house by 10 am. WIth me being up at 7:30 we should manage to get out the door. (minor miracle on my part).

I will be checking in briefly throughout when we land in the hotel at night, but I won't have a scale with me. I'm going to be VERY good, but enjoying too. I just have to stay mindful of my carb intake with the issues I have with blood sugars and wanting to stay off meds for that! Only meds I'm on and would like to keep that way is the thyroid meds.

OK, I'm off to scurry around this morning.

Good Morning, all!

Berry--Enjoy your vacation! I hope you have an amazing and relaxing time.

WannaBe--Sweet! Congrats on those 2 pounds!!

Isabella--I'm a horrible estimator, too.

Good Morning, Diana!

themiles--Good for you getting back on the wagon, though! Welcome back!

Still--Those hummus pita pockets sound delish! I've been eating a lot of fresh veggies on crusty bread. I'll often make a tomato, lettuce, bell pepper, avocado and cheddar sandwich.

Alaskan--I need to be bitten by your cleaning bug. My house needs it!

Darius--That's an amazing NSV. Go you!

Welcome LGW!

Up another 1.4 this morning to 187.0. TOM isn't even here yet and he's already wreaking havoc!

I am super achy this morning too. The plan will be for Yoga tonight. My body needs it. I am not going to let the scale bother me. This month has been awful for my numbers because I battled sleep so much. I got my 7 hours last night and I'm taking it! I am eating clean and drinking my water.

As I've said before, my scale can bite me. I WILL fight on!

Darius: Awesome NSV!!!!!

Shells: Hi!

Berry: Take that loss! Hope you get everything done today.

IsaOliv: I have the same problem at times. Sometimes it's hard for me to get enough calories on the weekends too.

Miles: Good to see you! Glad you're checking in!
