Default A few questions before I start....

Hey there everyone...
This wednesday the 8th I go for my first meeting and hopefully start the diet. I know I will probably find out everything then but just have a few questions.

Can you workout/excercise while on the diet?
Can you chew sugar free gum?

Exercise is frowned upon when you first start the diet. You can make modifications to it to compensate working out, if you have been for a long time, but ASK your coach!

Sugar free gum has also been an item of contention. It does have carbs, so most coaches say no, but some say a piece every now and again is ok. So again, you're gonna have to ask your coach.

So I have been no help, but alas..tiz the nature of the questions!

No marathon running but light excercise such as walking, yoga, that sort of thing...more then that in the beginning stresses your body because of the low intake, you can do more but may require more intake.
The gum thing, I agree with MInewgoal that it is a bone of contention. What makes sense to me is that when we chew gum we are stimulating our saliva glands and what not and our body gets ready for food....but doesn't get any..instead of satiating a craving it can make it worse. My coach suggested the breath strips, the things that melt on your tongue. I bought a big pack at costco.

I use the Listerine breathstrips all the time!!! My coach said absolutely NOT to gum. She said that 3 pieces of sugarfree gum add up to one restricted item. If I want the gum, i have to ditch my snack... no thanks!!
