Default Inches Gain!?

This week I've gained .35 inches on my waist and .2 inches on my hips. I'm wondering if this could be water weight?

I actually cheat measured 2 or 3 days ago and was set to lose inches and then yesterday after I ran I ballooned and my weights been fluctuating between 140 and 138 for the last day but was 139 this morning.

If I have gained fat and lost muscle then I need to obviously change something. My only 'splurge' was on easter sunday when I ate 1575 calories instead of my usual 1300, apart from that I have had at least a half hour run everyday this week.

But I should also mention last week I took a week off because I wasn't eating enough calories, during this time I maintained, could it be a result of that?

I'm also very very stressed this week as I had a deadline and I've got another two big ones in just over a week.

I'm trying to be pragmatic and not get discouraged but it's hard.

Relax. Don't freak out. If this becomes a general trend, then worry about it - but one measurement with a tiny increase like that is, like you said, probably just water weight. Don't worry!

water weight. you're doing fine. if something seems strange, i.e. you saw a gain despite sticking to plan/consuming a teensy bit more, it is not going to be true weight gain. it's ok!!

Measurements are also hard to take accurately -- you never know if you measured too tightly before or not enough now. It'll be fine

Thank you everybody! I'll have to see what my numbers are next week and see if they've improved. Things will be easier when i get some of this stress out of the way.
