Default A thread of positives

Most of the threads I read throughout this site are about people struggling through their journey. So I just wanted to make a thread where anyone can come in here and post about all the wonderful things they've discovered about themselves.

Post anything about your weight loss journey that puts a big smile on your face. Some examples may be:

Favorite new workout/exercise at the gym
Favorite new out door activity
New pants size that you thought you'd never fit in to
New friends you've made in the process
Something you were never able to do at your heaviest
New foods you learned to love
A body part that you are now in love with

This is the thread of positives

I've discovered that I am completely in love with my shoulders and arms and love the way they look when I'm working out

I bought my first pair of size 2 jeans the other day (started at a 16)

Never ate tomatoes in my life cause they were gross, but now I love them.

I feel so confident in every piece of clothing that I own, esp. bathing suits

My DH can pick me up and swing me around without hurting himself

My husband bought me a size m tunic to surprise me. I was afraid it wasn't going to fit but it did.

How excited I am by just getting it done instead of saying "next week I'll start my diet"! I'm proud of myself for being dedicated

Nice thread! Buying size 12 pants...haven't seen that size in 10 years. Being excited to work out. I love that I usually eat my veggies first when I sit down for dinner!

I think it's great to reward yourself with anything besides food! too many of us have a bad "relationship" with food, so buying new pants, earrings, manicure, or other fun things is a better choice than a piece of chocolate, for example.

Keep up the great work! Remember to lose weight...in a HEALTHY way

I loved reading these so far. Can’t wait for more! OK, here’s mine ---

1) I no longer have to buy clothes I hate just because they fit

2) My bath towel goes all the way around me and I don't have to make a mad dash across the hall to my room when I have company over.

3) How my elbows no longer hit up against my side fat or my chin up against my neck.

4) I can roll over in bed without grunting from the exertion

5) I love how people who haven’t seen me in a while look at me with a quizzical look and then astonishment when they realize it is me but 40 pounds lighter.

My daughter (teenager) and I have been walking together this week (spring break) and we actually have fun and talk during the walks.

Thanks for starting this thread.

There are so, so many positives...they largely define my life now

The overarching one is that I feel respect for my body...not just that I like certain aspects of my physical self...but more that I feel like the choices I make every day are aligned with what is in my body's best interest. For so long I did the opposite.

There are certain aspects of my physical body I do love though! My tiny waist and visible hip bones. My collar bones. My strong, toned arms and shoulders.

And I love how far I have come...it reminds me that I can do anything I dedicate my mind, body and spirit to fully.

Even though I have a food addiction, I'm not giving up. I continue to try. I have recently put on some of the weight I had lost, but now I'm losing again and I feel SO much better!

Eating better has helped me with my mood and the heartburn is gone! I also feel more optimistic about the future.

I don't have to hide behind clothes when it's warm! I was in Florida last week and did not feel fat once! That is a record for me!
