Default bikram yoga, anyone?

curious to see if there are any fellow bikram yogis out there. it's definitely my favorite form of exercise, despite not having had much weight loss from it (though it certainly does get your heart rate up pretty damn high, and [supposedly] burns a lot of calories)--i have, however, gained more strength, muscle, and balance. and aside from the physical benefits, i feel so much healthier, happier, and positive in general. for me, bikram is not only a form of exercise, but a way of life (sorry if that sounds ridiculously corny, but it's true). i currently practice 4-5x/week, and have completed two 30 day challenges.

cheers!

Good for you! I don't do bikram, but I do do yoga 2xs a week (I run and ST the rest of the time). I do agree it's a way of life (and yes that does sound corny ) I really don't do it for the fitness, although yes I do get a lot out of it in that respect. But just for the way it centers me and calms me down after a hard week. I love it!

I used to practice regularly but have not taken a class since last June. I plan on starting again after I drop some weight as I find it really hard to do some of the postures since my weight gain.

Congratulations on the two challenges!

I have a regular yoga practice, too. My teachers are Inyengar and Anusara trained. I totally feel the same way about my practice!

I am so much stronger than when I first started, and am really noticing my progression in the poses. I love it!
