Default First ten pounds

So, since the 7th, I've lost ten pounds. I was starting to feel down because last week I only lost one pound, but this week I lost three (since Friday, anyway, the week isn't over). I am glad to be able to say that I have that first ten pounds gone and I'm ready for another ten to fly out the window. I've been pretty great with my diet and have really accomplished a lot with exercise stuff. I can almost run a mile, which is half of my mini exercise goal, and for the first time in awhile today, I totally did 200 kettlebell swings. It's not a lot, but after not doing them for a long while, I think 200 is a fine place to start. So, I am happy to report that all is great with me. I'll keep working hard, as hard as I need to!

We'll hate to tell you this but when you get down to about 200 maybe more maybe a little less you'll be lucky to lose 5-8 pounds a month so enjoy the rapid weight loss while you can. The first month is almost always the biggest loss month you will have. I lost 20 my first month and then only lost at most 14 after that. Don't let it discourage you when it happens. You are doing great. Stay motivated like you are now and you will be at goal in no time.

Oh, I know. I am enjoying it while it lasts. But, the faster I get these initial pounds off, the more motivated I'll be to have to work harder for the last few. It seems almost like being under 200 is a distant dream. But, I will get there.

Congrats!!!!! YAY! Now if you ever feel the urge to slip you can remind yourself you have a 10 lb loss under you belt, why would you ever want to undo the hard work you've done to earn that?

major kudos!

Good work! I'm losing about .4 a week at this point, but as long as the scale is going down I know I'm on the right track!

Congratulations on your first 10 pounds! I know it must feel great to see the rewards of all your hard work! For me, getting to 10 pounds was such an accomplishment because for years I had never worked so hard to accomplish that....and it was the motivation for me to go on and lose more. Yes, I knew it would eventually slow down but I was so focused by that point I didn't care. :-)

You are doing beautifully!

Thanks, guys. I have to keep it off and keep motivated. I want to show my parents how much I have accomplished when I go to Arizona, so I have to keep it up. When I get there, the struggle will even less. It's automatic for them; they get up, exercise, put in their calories, go on a trillion walks a day in the summer time. Hiking, swimming at the Y, bike riding, running-they do all of that. It'll be wonderful.
