In the past 3 weeks that I've been on the IP diet, I've noticed that I've lost 0.75 inches on my arm. My coach says that the arms lose the inches the slowest.
I'm not on IP either but I've actually gained a little on my arms, while losing inches everywhere else. I'm chalking that up to the massive biceps and triceps that are going to pop out of that fat any day now!
i am on IP and my arms are the worst! i think in 9 weeks i have maybe lost a total of 1 inch off my arms. i'd love for them to catch up to the rest of my body!!
Well, ruralchick, you just confirmed it -- I'm not normal!!!.. or at least I'm atypical... my arms were the first place I noticed shaping up, then my legs, then my face, still waiting on my tummy to go away, although it's incredibly smaller than when I started... every body is different...
I just did my WI for week 3 today and everything else is shrinking at a surprisingly fast rate, except my arms. I know my coach cautioned me about working out too hard because with all the protein, muscles will build faster and I'll gain inches, not lose them.
I can't complain too much, my belly lap-over is disappearing quickly.
Oh Aunt Sheshie who wants to be normal anyways!! And I hear you! I said to my coach tonight...ok what do I have to eat to make all this stuff in the middle go away!! Much to DH's chagrin, I seem to only be losing inches in my chest...

haha!.. I don't think I could stand to be around myself if I were too normal... my life wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun!..
I forgot about my chest... it took a while, but I finally lost there too... I'd be really glad about that if I were still as perky as I was in my 20s... I'm just ignoring it for now!..
My arms didn't change for the first 3 weeks.. Then I lost 1/4 inch the 4th week and then 1/8 the 5th week. Very very slow ...
But my chest.. Gone. And I didn't have a lot to start with. I lose an inch there every week ughh. (why couldn't it be my thighs waist???)
I never did measure myself when I started out...but my arms have always been like popeye (got those from my Pops) and they were the very very last to go.My thighs were always the thickest too, so they started really changing right before the arms did. I mean like the last 5 lbs and all of a sudden....boom the arms were gone!!!! Now I have to tighten them up some. Also...when you're raising 5 babies, you build a lot of muscle. Maybe you just need them!!!!!
It just depends on your body. My first place was my waist(belly button) and tummy (at top of hip bones) (lost 11 inches on those 2 measurements alone the first week!)
My arms went next and I lost over 7 inches total off each arm!
My thighs and calves were the last to move. I only lost 1/2 inch off my calves in the first 45 pounds and I had 17 inch calves to start! I still have heavier calves than I want and hope to still lose another 4 inches in these last 45 pounds. I just have really large legs! I have never (even at 115 pounds) had 12" calves or 19" thighs. )
I have lost 60+ lbs.....and not dropped a single bra size......SNIFF SNIFF....darn things...I've had them since I was in 8th grade.....gonna take moola to get rid of 'em! On a side note...smoking hot bod with large boobs....a guys dream right? our worst nightmare (not the hot body...just the annoying boobs!)
Height: 5'9 current size 8 and some 6's --never ever been a 6 (not even in highschool)
Aunt Sheshie -- are you my long lost relative????? I am experiencing the EXACT same thing as you -- loss in my arms, calves, thighs, face, butt, hips, bust and waist ..in that order (my waist...uggggg it just won't budge) I think based on others in my clinic the places where you want to loose are the last to go and the places where you have less to loose are the first. I should add that I am an apple shape (who had a baby via c-section 6 months ago) so that probably makes a difference as to how inches are lost (or at least this is my non scientific theory). I suspect that eventually the inches in my waist will go but not without a fight. As a matter of fact someone said to me yesterday "wow you are loosing so much weight but it looks like you still have your tummy" Yep score one for me :-)....so for all of you who are loosing your tummy/waists...green is my shade and not for St. Patrick but for envy ;-)
