I am starting a new trend. Instead of confessing all of the negative, crappy thngs that I (we) have done to derail our weight loss, we are going to focus on the positive things we do.
We always beat ourselves up for the small things... binges, not working out one day (it's only one day), going over our limit, etc. We seem to never give ourselves credit for the good things we do.
That stops today! What positive thing did you do today for your journey?
Today I am going to a new class called Bodyblast. I will not feel guilty about making my 13 yr old babysit for an hour to do this for myself!
Well, for me it started last night. I have a closet full of 14 - 16 - 18 sizes. Last night I bought two pair of 12 pants. I knew I was looking dumpy. So TODAY I am wearing a perfectly fitting 12 pant and within 30 minutes of being at work, 3 people have already commented on my weight loss. Including one girl who doesn't even know me; just knew what I looked like.
Monday morning I was watching something on tv and I thought to myself, "why am I not on my bike since I'm just watching tv?" I've been biking while watching tv since then and so far I've gone almost 90 miles.
Nice idea! Positive reinforcement goes a much longer way than (even laughingly) reiterating what we didn't do - I like it!
Today, and tomorrow, and the day after that - I WILL stay on my plan. It's been a rough week - 3-day plateau and today my scale showed a +0.8 In my past attempts at losing weight, the minute things ground to a halt or went in the wrong direction would be the instant I gave up and threw in the towel. Not this time - my BodyMedia Fit should be here tomorrow so I'm going to use that to REALLY fine-tune my diet and workout - and I'm gonna blast my way to Onederland if it takes me the rest of the darn year! Bring it on, fat cells!!
I am drinking water as I am reading. Rather than snacking which I normally do. And since the weather is nice the dogs and I will go for a little frolic in the snow.
today i walked to the vets office carrying my cat in her crate thing. 30 mins of walking carrying a very large cat, im quite proud of myself!
oh and Shan, good for you on the new pants!
Yesterday Boyfriend got a gym membership. And he gets to bring me along for free! So I will definitely be doing some more exercising on Monday and Wednesday nights from now on.
last night I ate greek yogurt with a spoon full of cottage cheese mixed in (i like the texture of the 2 mixed together) while my husband and kids ate brownies with icecream and chocolate syrup!
Even though I didn't get home until 8:30 PM last night I still did the workout DVD I had planned on while my husband played a game. I didn't make excuses about it being too late or me being too tired. And I'm excited for my workout this evening!
I'm going to run outside today rather than use my elliptical machine. (I hate running with a passion, but I want to start doing it more to help tone up). Plus, it is good to mix it up!
Yesterday my puppy got me up at 5 a.m. to go outside (1 hour before my alarm was supposed to go off). After taking him outside I layed back down only to stop and think "this is a choice you are making, laying back down when you are awake and alert and should probably use the time to workout instead."
Yesterday i did an hr on the elliptical instead of my normal 30 mins because it was my day off and i had nowhere to rush off to, so i let myself get engrossed in what i was watching. After that i still did my arm routine even though i was completely jelly-legged.
And tonight i am going to start trying to run, i need to learn to get into the military once i get to weight, might as well start now

That is a great goal! Running is a big deal in the military. I was in the Air Force (a long time ago) and my husband just celebrated his 13 yr anniversary of being in. I love the lifestyle, even with all of the struggles. So if you ever have any questions, look me up.
I resisted the desire to eat out for lunch after my dentist visit and ate my planned lunch at home which was still yummy and I know fits into my calories.
