Default New to vegan/vegetarian!

Hello everyone!
I am brand new to the wonderful world of vegetarian. I have lost 7 pounds in the last two weeks and am excited for my future. My husband took me out for dinner tonight and i am thinking oh no, what will i have to eat , but i was so pleasantly surprised wth the absolutely deliscious flavour from the veggie burger i ordered. It was fantastic and came with a side salad. I did have a treat being Valentines and all. A lovely piece of carrot cake, it was so yummy. I am trying to drink lots of water and get in exercise too. I am the only one in my family who is doing this but I feel good about it. Look forward to hearing from you all.

Congrats on your dietary change and your loss! There are so many options out there for vegetarians these days that you don't ever have to feel deprived by not eating meat.

Veggie burgers can be really really good. I discovered that Red Robin (the restaurant chain) will usually make any burger on their menu with their own veggie version, and they're really good! Last time I was there I had a teriyaki burger with pineapple. It was awesome.

Echoing the congrats and the welcome! I have been a vegetarian for 11 years now, since I was a teenager, and I don't think will ever go back. Be sure you don't replace meat with pasta, breads, and cheese, which is so easy to do and is a trap I have definitely fallen into before . Fresh fruits and veggies, and whole grains when necessary, will do the trick. Happy vegging
