Default is this healthy and/or sane?

So i've done pretty well sticking to my plan thus far...but I have to tell you that i have 5 meals planned in my head that i want so badly its not even funny! I read somewhere that once a month you should allow yourself a meal (not a whole day) just a meal to eat whatever you want. I AM ALL ABOUT THIS! lol...i have been pretty dedicated to my diet-i even have dreams where i eat horrible foods and wake up in a panic because I thought i actually ate it! (LOL!) anyway back on subject...do you guys have a cheat meal? daily? weekly? monthly? goal-ly (like lose 15 pounds treat yourself)? i would love to here what you guys think!

Lol!! I have had dreams like that too!!!! I allow myself one "cheat" meal a week. Its something I eat every week anyways. Hot wings! Its my favorite food!!! If I'm making a lifestyle change, then they have to be incorporated, because you should not deprive yourself of your fave. Thats just wrong! I have been doing this since the beginning of the year. I cut my meal from 15 to 10 wings with no dressing, and no fries. Its been going really good! Also, I decided not to reward my weightloss with food, but material objects! Like, when I lose 25 (ten more to go!!) I will buy myself some new nail polishes and nail tools.

I DO! I do it once every week or sometimes I skip a week (cuz I'm just not craving or hungry for it). By allowing myself a "CHEAT MEAL" once per week, this has not only been good for me mentally but also has helped my fat loss efforts.

My usually cheat meals are generally pretty calorie dense (about 525-800 calories) and my daily calories usually total 2,000-2,200 on that day. My normal calorie range is 1500-1600 cal/day. A good time to plan your cheat meal is during your PMS week.

I usually choose the following foods for my cheat meal: (yours may vary!)

Jamaican curry chicken, peas and rice, cabbage - take-out
Chinese food - fried chicken wing with brocolli & chicken or beef over white rice - take-out
Pizza - DiGornio 3 Meat Pizza (frozen isle at grocery store) THE BEST PIZZA EVERRRRR!!! (3 slices..YUM!)

I've been doing this since September 6, 2010 and have lost 44 lbs in this time period. IT WORKS...period! OH and one last thing...my weight loss has NEVER stalled...EVER!!!

Keep in mind...I eat like this whenever my body tells me I need to (which is on average about once every other week...but can be back to back weeks as well.

I just recently "cheated" on my no fast food or take out rule and got a buffalo chicken pretzel... but I didn't over do it and it fit within my calorie limit just fine. I ate one of those (300 calories) and a powerade (150 calories) and I did better than the days when I eat turkey and cheese on whole wheat bread (which usually comes to around 500-600 calories). So I think if you plan ahead and you don't overeat it's not really cheating.

I have planned cheats now and then. Not a "whatever I want" meal because then I'll eat like 5000 calories lol. But if it's an item at a restaurant or something or a drink I'll do it. It does help keep me sane!
