Default Newbie!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums but been on my weightloss journey for about 6 weeks now. I'm down 14 pounds ^_^ but I've just about hit my plateau. Hopefully I can be down to 130 by the end of May (my wedding!).

I completely changed my eating habits and eliminated starches, sodas, sugars, fried/fatty foods and the like! It was a really hard change, as I'm asian, and rice is a staple food that I ate everyday, twice a day.

I also did the exercise bike at first and when that stopped working I moved to zumba and turbo jam. I feel healthier and better about myself (not afraid to look in the mirror anymore), but the weight stopped coming off. It looks like I might be losing fat, but maybe not. People have told me I might just be gaining muscle at the same time, but it's really frustrating to see the numbers stay the same. I guess I have to invest in a measuring tape.

What's worked for you to get over your plateau?

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on your weight loss so far! When I get into a plateau I usually go off my diet. Not crazy, but I allow myself to eat at maintenance for a few days to a week. After that I go back to my routine and it usually will move easier after that. Even gaining a lb or two back before continuing on plan can help your body to get under what you were stuck at. Good luck. ^_^

Welcome! It's always hard when the scale doesn't move! Def. start measuring your self though. It's more of a boost the the scale number anyway!
