Default Protein! Carbs! Fats! Oh My!

Although many people here are strictly calorie counters and do not count or even care about the macro nutrients, I was wondering if anyone here does aim for the certain ratio of C/P/F and what your ideal breakdown is for weight loss and satiety ?

I aim to get 40% Carb, 40% protein, and 20% fat. Not always successful, but I try...usually I end up 45/35/20 or so.

You can use this calculator to see macronutrient breakdowns based on various diets/plans.

I do a low carb plan - 25% carb, 40% protein, 35% fat.

I try to get 40-50% protein and let the fats and carbs fall where they may. I usually end up with lower fat, just because I like to eat and high-fat foods are gone so quickly. For some people, small amounts of fat seem to be sating. My body doesn't have that response at all.

I don't generally find it necessary to get that specific. I eat a balanced diet and moderate all my food groups. I do like to have some fiber when I eat fats and some protein when I eat carbs. Fiber helps keep your colon clean and prevent colon problems. I've had polyps removed and they want me to get my fiber. Protein with carbs helps keep your blood sugar levels even. I have been diabetic during pregnancy and an trying to prevent type 2 so this is just what I do to help my body along in processing sugars.

I think it's great to balance your diet, not so much for weight loss but for your general health.

I try to avoid things that are high in refined white carbs or trans fats, and I try to eat some high-quality protein, but I otherwise let the macronutrients fall where they may, and it seems to be working out OK. (FWIW, I've been eating 1400 calories a day.)

I aim for 40-50% carbs, 30-40% fat (3-7% saturated), and the rest protein. I'm not quite there yet but low carb just was never something I could stick withh

kinda. sometimes. I'm not sure what the right macros are and it's another food puzzle to work on. I do try to aim for 100 grams of protein a day. I think I'm still trying to figure out if carbs, proteins or fat/low fat works for my body.

I'm like you, Ringmaster. When I'm planning my day in Fitday, I aim for over 100 grams of protein, under 100 grams of carbs, and let the fat take care of itself.
