I overheard my friends talking the other day and one of them said that I used to be a 10 and was super pretty. USED to be?? that was a serious reality check. I'm serious about this now!!

A quick insight to my weight loss journey:

I am almost 22 and have struggled with my weight pretty much my whole life. I am 5'3" so every pound shows...
2004: 150 lbs
2005: 130 lbs
2006: 150 lbs
2007: 170 lbs
2008: 180 lbs
2009: 190 lbs
2010: 210 lbs
Current: 190 lbs
GOAL: 120-125 lbs

I am also participating in the 30 lb challenge. I really, really, REALLY, hope it works!! Oh, and I am also new to this, so any support or advice would really be helpful

First off, what kind of 'friends' do you have?! Not good ones if they are talking crap about you.

Second: Welcome to 3FC! There is alot of good and positive support here. You'll be at your goal weight in no time.

I hear you NikkiBee! I had a friend say the same thing to me a few months ago. He told me that I used to be really hot twenty years ago. He then wondered what happened to me. I found it really rude at the time, but when I got home I sat and thought about it, and I knew he was very right. I had changed a lot over the years, and sometimes the truth hurts.

I think admitting that you want to weight less, is a big first step towards achieving it. There is a lot of support on this forum! Best of luck to you on your goals. Nothing is impossible in my opinion. It just takes hard work and persistence.

Aww, I'm sorry your "friends" said that about you. That is terrible. I'm sure you are still very pretty regardless!

Oh and I'm 5'3" as well so I know what you mean, and I noticed we have the same goal weight. I got down to 125 last year and felt good there, so it is my goal to get back there by next spring. If you'd like a "diet" buddy let me know! I always find it helps having someone with similar goals to relate to and help stay accountable!

Nikkibee, "USED to be" doesn't mean you still aren't really pretty! I can't even count on my fingers how many times I've heard stuff like that from people, but they are wrong. There are so many beautiful women out there with a few or more than a few extra pounds to lose. Show them what you've got!

That would probably scar me for life. The worst said to me from a friends was when I had a miscarriage. She said I would've made a good mother. Still echos in my ears. Some people just don't think about what they are saying. I am sorry you overheard that.
