Default GPS for walking?

Now, I know this must be a girly question, because when I ask guys they just look at me like I'm a mad woman.

I discovered the printed directions from a walking site I was using today weren't that easy to follow. What I really want is a satnav I can hang round my neck, with earpieces, so that the voice directing me doesn't draw attention to itself in the city streets.

Does such a thing exist? (Or should I patent it, quick? )

I have an older one that I take backpacking with me. It doesn't talk to me. Let me see if I can see if I can find something like it.
So I looked around a bit, and none of the ones for walkers or runners that I see give directions.

The GPS I have in my car is small enough to put in my pocket, and I could hear it from there. If I was getting lost I would try that

We have a hand held for hiking purposes, but it doesn't tell you where you are on the trail just a electronic map really. It will beep when you arrive at a destination, but it doesn't give direction I have a wrist gps for running and walking that tells you how far you have gone, pace, HR etc etc. That's all I know of........... Good luck on your search
