Default second round harder to lose?

as some of you know, I regained some weight I lost and I'm on my second round to get to my goal weight. It seems like I'm not losing as fast as I did when I was this weight before. I'm doing pretty much the same thing I did when losing the first time. The scale keeps jumping around 200, like yesterday it was 199, today it's 202.... I dunno... I'm pretty sure the weight came off pretty steadily when I was 200 before.

Anyone else experience it's harder to lose the second time around?

It makes sense - that's one of the reasons "they" say that yo-yo dieting is so bad. Depending on how much older you are than before, that could also make a difference.

I've been dieting all of my life - and every attempt has been harder and slower than the last. If only I had learned my second or even fifth or fiftieth time how important it was to stick with it no matter how slow.

I maintained for 6 years but I'm back after gaining with pregnancy (which was inevitable, it is only 15lbs). I do find it a lot harder I guess age, having a family, etc

it's been about 2-3 years, but I'm getting close to 30 now. I guess it's true it does get harder after a certain age. yikes, I'm glad I'm getting back on track now and I didn't regain it all... definitely a wake up call to not regain again! thanks for the replies.

I had a baby and I turned thirty (at the same time). I no longer recognize this body! It's like a BOMB went off in my lower abdomen. I can't believe what a difference those two things have made on losing weight. I used to see fast weight loss from small changes. Now it is small/slow weight loss from BIG changes.

Slow and steady... we will get there. I AM THE TURTLE!

What you guys are mentioning is exactly the reason I intend this weight loss to be permanent. I have gained and lost a ridiculous amount of pounds during my 20s. 2004 and 2006 were the most drastic, but I lost some in 2008. I'm finding that the weight loss has been decent with only a couple of stalls, but I'm afraid that if I needed a "next time" to lose the weight, my body would not be as forgiving. I'm 29 and I've noticed that with the women in my family, they are small through the twenties but in the 30s their weight starts to creep upward. That's not a trend that I want to continue!

It's because you're at 200!!! It's the curse of One-derland! They have a very strict hazing process and all who enter must first stall in the low 200's before crossing the border!!

It's true!

Seriously though, we've been discussing this on the 100 lbs board. So many of us stall at 200!! Furthermore, we seem to stall before all major milestones. Once you get over that hump, you will the scale move a bit quicker. I don't know if it's the stress of desperation or what, but it's definitely annoying!
