which burns more calories, the treadmill or elliptical?
I am very confused. When I walk on the treadmill, doing the fat burning program, it says in 20 minutes I burned up to 200 calories. But when I spend 20 minutes on the elliptical, it only says I burned 100 calories. How is this possible? The elliptical feels like it is working me much harder.
I never trust those machines and their calorie counter. For one, the treadmill I use doesn't even ask for your weight...so how is it going to accurately project the calories I'm exerting??? Like ddc said, just do what you can and push yourself a little...it'll pay off.
Here's a website for calories burned by certain activities. Hmmm...sex burns more calories than the treadmill...
Those things are just estimates... best to use a heart rate monitor to get YOUR numbers based on your heart and exertion.
I always burned more on elliptical because then I can jog since there's less impact on my knees. On treadmill I can only walk. And jogging for 30 min is longer distance and more calories than walking for 30 min.
