Default What's your maintenance range?

Hello maintenance masters and mistresses,

I'm just having a snoop around because I am one pound from goal! This might be a bit premature, lol but thought I check this forum out.

I was just curious as to how you chose your maintenance range?

For example say your goal is 130, would you maintain from 130-135 or would you go the other way say 125-130?

At the moment I am tempted to go 116-120. But 116 seems so tiny, but I had a 3 month 123 plateau that the idea of that being a weight that I DESIRE is just so painfully ironic.

Anyway ramble over, but would be really interested in what yours are and how you chose etc.

Hope to see you all VERY soon

D xxx

My signature contains a graphic that shows my Maintenance Range.
The first 3 years I maintained most of the time 112-115..in my Blue Maintenance area.
This past 2 years I've spent a lot of time 118-119...in my Red LoseWeight area,
although I've consistently worked to restabilze in the lower area,
my body has not cooperated....yet.

I at several different weights I thought I had found my maintanence range to realize I hadn't, the scale continued to move downwards and I was happy and healthy about it. You might find the same to be true.

My "goal" weight is 140. I try to stay to it as close as possible. I rarely go under although I have dipped a few times into upper 130's as I was "getting ready" for a special occasion. When I get as high as 145 a little siren goes off in my head screaming RED ALERT! Code RED....as in STOP!!! But usually I'm floating around happily between 140 to 143. Today I was 141.0

I am hardly an expert as I am still stabilizing & working to figure out how to manage this maintenance thing. I've only just arrived at the beginning of June, but for the most part, I am generally in the 144-146 range (my goal weight is 145). I have to say that when I am above 145, I pay a little closer attention to exactly what it is that I am consuming. It doesn't take long (so far) for me to settle back to 144. On the rare occasion I've crept over 146, I get back to task with being very diligent to cut out the 'extras' & follow the plan that got me here to begin with.

I am letting my body adjust as I lost my weight fairly quickly. Ultimately, I'd like to lose 5-8 more pounds, which is probably why I'm less content to actually see my weight above my goal.

Cheryl

Thank you all so much, it has all been very helpful.

The scale has said 121 for a few days now, so unless it's a plateau I hope to see you all by next week!

I have a 5 lb range. Right now it's 148-153, but I don't like this range because anything over 150 and things start to feel pudgy and my clothes fit tighter. So I'm thinking it's time to get refocused and move that to 143-148 and reevaluate. 5 lbs may be too wide a range for me we'll see, but I think it will work out.

I've also been within a 5 pound range since hitting goal. I find I'm fairly stable within 3 pounds, usually from water gain/loss or an unusually carby or salty day. When I go up from there (usually after travel or vacation) I know it's time to go back to more stringent eating for 2-3 weeks until my body stays at the lower end of things.

LOL Lori, I also have that mental Red Alert that screams at me.
