Default Weight loss motivators?

What are some of the things that motivate you to staying on track? I'm trying to think of ways to keep me on track with my deit. So far I'm come up with two plans:

1) Carry around a recent picture of myself to remind myself how much I hate being at this weight

2) Carry around a picture of a girl I really don't like (she's super mean) who recently lost about 20 pounds and thinks she's amazing (she's bikini body ready)

Have any of you tried similar tricks? Do they work?

My motivators change as time goes on. The constant is that I just want to look smokin and be healthy.

A big motivator at the moment is being healthy and at a good weight before we start trying to have a baby next year. A big thing that scares me about being pregnant (besides the obvious) is gaining too much weight. With my height, I'm already near the top of the normal sizes spectrum with a 12 bottom. I don't have enough wiggle room.

That is so true about the clothes...all cute clothes are for skinnier girls...definitly a motivator for me..I can never find clothes that I like for my size

I have alot of dresses in various sizes.....10s, 12s, and 14s. I set reasonable mini-goals about "getting back into" certain clothes. I have a red dress that is a size 14 that I would love to feel comfortable in next month.

My overall goal is a size 140, which is a size 8-10 for me. I have a gorgeous beaded blue dress that I wore on a cruise 7 years ago (at 145lbs). I want to get into that dress in Feb. I look at it and touch the fabric often to remind me what I am working towards.

I definately need motivation too! I just kind of introduced myself in another post but yea, I got started on Monday, and I've lost 3 lbs already (I know the first few lbs are mostly water weight) but I know now that it's the weekend, I'm going to have a hard time staying motivated.

Any advice would be great! Especially overcoming cravings and munchies.

I may be motivated now, but that may soon change (no negative talk by saying it WILL change!) My biggest motivator is feeling better about myself, because I've wanted to lose weight for as long as I can remember. I want to go school shopping and fit into the teeny-tiny tops and jeans. I want to get my belly pierced! Aren't all our most important motivators worth more than the feeling we get from eating bad food? That's what I say to myself each time I see something I want to eat that isn't good for me.

I look through the goal and mini goal threads here. Seeing someone else succeed shows me I can succeed too. And I just posted my own halfway to goal thread in the hopes that I will give other's help too.

Besides the obvious vanity and health, one of my biggest motivators is that I'm young (just turned 20) and I want to lose the weight NOW so I can enjoy what's ahead.

I do something similar. I frequently look at not so flattering swim suit pics of me, but I don't carry them around. Or I'll try on my "skinny" pants that I can't fit into anymore just to stay motivated for workouts. Even during my heaviest times I've been comfortable in my body, just not always loved the way it looked. So if I don't see full body pics I know I would have kept gaining. It may seem like torture looking back at yucky pics or putting small pants on, but I think of it as a reality check.

I'm doing this mostly for health reasons. It has really helped with relief of depression and anxiety and has definitely helped with confidence.

Although... a big motivation factor for me is that I'm getting married in 6 weeks. (I would like to be in onderland by then)
