Default Gap Sizes?

Has anyone noticed that sizes at Gap run really large? Today I went in to buy a pair of shorts and the size 4s were a little big...I normally wear a 6 or an 8, so it seemed a little odd that I would need to buy a 2 after only losing like 10 pounds. Any thoughts, or am I just crazy?

gap has been running big as of late, I am positive it is vanity sizing but ultimately you have to buy what fits regardless of the size.

In the last 3 months I have bought clothing ranging from 6 to 12 and I would concider myself an 8-10

About a month ago I was in The Gap to buy a gift card for a friend's daughter. Saw there were some cute jeans on sale. Tried on the size 2. Slid off. The size 0 bagged. The 00 fit. There is no way I am a freaking double zero. I did buy them because they looked good on me and were very comfortable, and I couldn't resist the sale price (20$, reduced from $60).

Vanity sizing at its best

I still have a pair of 5/6 pants that I cannot fit into. However, I recently bought a pair of size 4 shorts from Club Monaco. So WTF?
