Default Is there a limit on bonus points you can earn?

I got to wondering because with my run and Insanity workout, I have burned around 1,400 calories today. I do WW at home but the material I bought says I can earn 1 bonus point per 100 calories burned which would come out to 14 points. Even using the WW formula, it comes out to 12 points. That's a ton!! Can I really add that to my day?

WW recommends that you add no more than 4 AP per day, or a max of 28 per week. It is a good idea to eat at least half of those (2) with some sort of protein when you have a big workout.

If I'm hiking or doing some other long calorie burning work out, I will compensate with extra food. I earned 28 activity points once on a hike, and the leader saw that number and said "that's too many points to eat for you" and I was like "Um, those were points I burned."

I think WW doesn't take into consideration people who do serious workouts and activities that burn a lot of calories.

You can use up to 28 activity points per week in addition to your 35 weekly points.
For me personally though, I find that if I use both my activity AND WPA, I end up not losing any weight. Usually breaking even. So I try to only use one or the other (usually I use my activity points but not my WPA).

This must be true! The day I burned 1,400 calories, I added 10 activity points to my day. I did it 3 times last week and added 5 points on the days I didn't add running to my workout and I lost 5 pounds. I also used about 20 flex points. Oh, I was also on my period! The key for me was to not waste my extra points on junk food, which I normally would have done, and to drink tons of water. We'll see how this week goes.

I should say that while I added all those activity points, I didn't necessarily use them all. Sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't. Looking back at last week's log, my week looked a lot like the Wendie plan where you vary your points from day to day to keep your body guessing. I wonder if that's a big reason my weight drop was so significant.

I try not to use my activity points, although I do get in a hard workout each day. When I use the activity points, it kind of feels like I am negating the hard work I did, and it won't bring me closer to my goal. But, I do use the flex points, I would have a hard time not using them!

After a 5 mile run and an Insanity workout, I HAVE to eat some of my activity points! I think I would pass out if I didn't. It's working well for me. I'm adding a lot more than 4 bonus/activity points per day and sometimes I use them all (or more!) and sometimes I only use some of them. I'm finding that I am not using my 35 flex points as much. Maybe 15 over the whole week. So far this is working for me. I know I will have to tweak it again once I am not working out as intense.

I run for 10 kms every weekend that halpe me burn like 2000 calories and on top of that i hit the gym just afterwards, yeah i understand it can be cumberson using your activity points, just like banabanana said itkind of diverts the whole attention from actually exertimg more effort into your routine work outs.

Is it that you should only be *using* 28 activity points per week... while essentially adding as many as you want to your actual total? i.e. I added 32 activity points to my week... I'll have 4 left over that WW recommends I definitely don't use? (I wouldn't even end up using 28 but I'm just curious)

WW recommends that you use no more than 28 of your AP per week. If you earn more, you shouldn't eat them. I earn 35-50 AP per week. I usually don't eat any of them. I usually eat some or most of my weekly 35 points. I know that the AP are there if I need them but I try not to dip that far into my points. It's been working for me for over 2 years.
