Does anyone use this site? I havent used it in a while but im getting sick of wasting sticky notes. It says that to lose 2 pounds a week i need to eat 2228 calories a day???? THATS A LOT. Ive been doing 1800 and losing. I dont want to increase them. Thoughts people?

I use it, but I always set my calorie calculation at 'sedentary' when I'm figuring out the calorie counts.

I used daily plate by itself before DP merged with Livestrong. It was ok I suppose... I like Calorie King better - but livestrong is free [Calorie King - not so much].

I do the same, no matter what sites I use.

When you say 'set the calories at what you are doing' do you mean for your exercise and activity level? If so, yes. Under 'calorie goal' pick the drop down under 'activity level' that you feel fits your current level. I always do sedentary, then I log the exercise separate. That gives me a lower calorie number than one logged in 'eating back' exercise calories. Some people set it at the level at which they exercise and are active daily and don't log in exercise cals burned. Mine varies too much to do that.

I haven’t used livestrong, but I use the dailyplate and was completely dumbfounded when I calculated my daily caloric needs to lose 2 lbs a week based on my level of activity…it was close to yours, something between 2200 and 2300 which is ridiculous.

However, I only use the site to calculate what I’ve eaten that day…I already know that I need to stay between 1200 and 1600 to lose, so I definitely didn’t take their suggestion into consideration. I would suggest that most people select sedentary under activity level to be on the very safe side, if you’re actually going to use their suggestion as a guideline.

Wonder why it goes so high?
