Default Figuring Calories question...

So I had an excellent day calorie wise until this afternoon when I decided I HAD to have some homemade soup! All in all it probably isn't that bad, mostly tomato based ingrediants. So what I'm wondering is in order to figure the calories I just take a count of everything I put in and that is the total for the whole pot right? So out of that how would I figure the calories per serving? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

It can be very hard with something like soup. I estimate how many cups of soup so say I think it is 8 cups and I eat one cup, then I get 1/8 of all the calories.
