Default On and Off...On and Off...On and Off....

I just saw a post on another thread that made me laugh! A girl admitted to getting on and off the scale multiple times after seeing a low reading and even then not quite believing what she saw.

Just last week I saw 248 for the first time in years and got on and off the scale at least 6 times, even grabbing a heavy bottle of shampoo to trick the scale.

Just for s***s and giggles, girls and guys (the two of you that post here!) What funny things do you do when you weigh in? Can you hop off the scale after weighing just once??

haha I try to trick my scale all of the time. I'm glad i'm not the only one

I will stand on it and get my weight in the morning then I will put weight from one of my feet on it so it will take that weight and then hop back on it again to get my full weight. I end up doing that a couple of times till I actually believe it or until it frustrates me haha

I'll do the shuffle on my scale, stpeeing to the left, the right, front, back. But most of the time, I hop on and off the scale and take the first duplicate reading I get, so on avg...probably 3 hops on and off.
great to hear I'm not the only scale dancer out there.

I do only weigh myself ONCE now because my scale is accurate and true no matter how many times I get on and off... but my old scale? Now that was a different story

Now that I own a great, reliable scale (Tanita) there is no reason for me to go on the scale multiple times. I know, because when I first got it, I checked it out and found that there was no need. It gives me the same reading again and again. So now, I only have to step on once. I do make sure it's in the same spot all the time and that I weigh at the same time of day (early in the am, before my shower) and wearing nuthin'.

phew!! Glad I'm not the only one who does this. My weighing in involves being naked, after I pee, right before my morning shower...I have to make sure the scale isn't wobbling where it is on the uneven bathroom tile floor. Ideally, I'd like to not move it from its spot, but between my husband and son, nothing stays in one spot. Then I actually make sure I exhale...I'm crazy, I know, thinking a deep breath could add weight...and weigh myself. I then reweigh my self a few more times after shifting the scale around a few times, because I have found that the weight varies if I even slide the scale over an inch or two. Its not the scale, its the crappy apartment I live in. The floors / tiles are uneven. I will settle on the weight that comes up the most.

Well.... I have a great, reliable Tanita too, but I have been known to resorting to removing my jewelry if I don't like the weight....

I also rest my hand on the wall--and step on slowly, even though that doesn't actually affect the Tanita-- but some habits die slowly.

And worst of all, I sometimes weigh several times a day.

All in all, I'm really a scale nut.

If it is a number I have never seen, I step on and off 3 times , and usually with my Tanita it is the same number all 3 times. For me I need to be certain I actually hit that milestone before I do the jig lol

I have a sneaking suspicion that my scale isn't very accurate if it supposed to give me the same reading twice.

So I get on three times and take the average of the three.

funny thread! I have been known, ahem, cough cough, to weigh myself with jewelry and clothes, then take them off to see the lower number (heh heh). I've also tried moving my feet around and reweighing to see if I can get those tenths to drop (yeah, kinda pitiful!)

My "Scale", the Wii Fit, I usually do the body test twice.. at least. Just to make sure. Sometimes it gives me a lower number, sometimes not. I honestly don't know how accurate it is and would like to get an ACTUAL scale. That Tanita sounds good.

I know when I lived at my parent's house, I would get on, off, on off several times and wait untill I saw the same number twice too!
