Default How often do you measure?

I have been on my plan for 2 1/2 weeks now.. I saw on here that alot of you have measurements, this is something I have never done before.. I have been a yo-yoer my whole life and this time want to really record my progress so perhaps if tempted to cheat I can look back and see the difference... I find at times in the past I just knew I was smaller, but can't remember what being big is!! How far I have let it get this time... I get bigger everytime, typical, loose 85 gain back a hundred... I am determined, not to do it again..

So, I bought a body tape online that locks so you and get and accurate account. Measured myself this morning, it was worse than I thought, but I am hoping to see some real difference. So, my question is....

How often do you measure??

I measure my waist every day, but everything else I measure about once a week. I haven't weighed myself in maybe two weeks. The scale was a bummer...I had to get a new one and it said I weighed like 10 more pounds than the older one and....I couldn't deal. With measurements, you know it takes more than a pound or two to change the inches so it's easier for me to not get as hung up on a lack of change with it.

I just started this and I'll be interested to hear the answers. So far, it's not something I see much difference in weekly, and it's not very accurate. I mean, I can measure twice in a row and get two different numbers, even trying to repeat the exact placement and tightness. I'm hoping it will be a better gauge for long term results, but so far I'm thinking I'll only measure once a month...

On the first of each month. Then I post it on fitday and here in an accountability thread.

I measure once per month, too. Log the results in my TDP account and on my spreadsheet. Typically on or around the 6th.

I try to remember to measure on the first on the month. I start with my waist, but If there are no changes I don't record it, and try again next month.

I officially measure once a month, but I do like to measure my waist more often because I get excited whenever I see that 1/4 of an inch lost. I make sure that I measure and weigh when I first wake up because those numbers can change as the day goes buy and I eat and exercise.

Right now I am doing one time a week as I have lots of inches to lose. I have lost 4.5 inches in the last 2 months off my waist. Oh and I only measure my waist.

When I first started I had planned to measure every two weeks. But I've found once a month is better for me.

I measure ALL THE TIME. Like, every time I go to the bathroom (tape is in there). The scale can bounce up and depress me, but measurements are more stable, and just seeing what it is (under 36" waist! 6.25 inch wrist! 13 inch neck--those are my main ones) makes me happy. I don't even need to see change.

I measure every ten pounds. It is amazing to see where those 10 came off of each time (I am at 75 lbs gone now).
