Default Non-Food Rewards

Hi all!

I have been rewarding myself/celebrating with food since...well, I was born in 1973 so....

Wondering what your ideas are for rewards now that food isn't an option? A few things I have done:

1. I buy a new top or skirt at my goal size for every week I am completely, utterly on plan (ZERO cheats).
2. naps
3. We planted a veggie box instead of ate out for Mother's Day (grabbed a grilled chx salad from McD's drive thru on the way home - woo hoo! treat! lol!)
4. Paint my nails (with 4 kids, the time involved has been impossible)
Need some more ideas that DONT involve shopping! I don't want to switch addictions, lol!

When I hit 50lbs, I wanted to reward myself. I too am a food celebrator. I bought a charm bracelet. I've decided I'm going to buy myself a charm for every 20lbs from now on. That way when I wear it, it's a reminder of what I've accomplished..

I changed my hairstyle recently to celebrate being at the halfway point. It was mid-length and curly....

I bought new running shoes as one reward, new iTunes songs for my workout as some others. Those are all bought... hmm... pedicure, give yourself time for a bubble bath and a book, allow yourself to get books for YOU at the library instead of all for your kids, plant a vegetable plant and then all the veggies are rewards...

I've done pedicures, massages, a new shirt and a haircut. Not sure what I'll do at 60, 70 and goal though.

i'm putting money in an account at each 10lb mark for my goal weight shopping spree. It works better for me than going and buying a piece of clothing because I'm not sure what size I'll really end up at.

Great idea! I know my shirt size b/c I gain most of my weight in hips and stomach. Maybe I'll do this so I can make sure to get cuuuuuute jeans! Come on, cute butt, come back to me!

Default Massage

I bought my wife and I two gift certificates when we started for our 30lbs mark and we will get a couple massage together. We started this together and have been supporting each other though it. As long as we both don't have a "weak" day on the same day we have been really good for each other.

I know that it is bad in some respects to buy things before hand but it is also something we can both focus on. If things keep going like they have it will be only a couple more weeks before we can go.
