Default What should I wear?

I have been loosing weight since Jan 2010. I think everything I had then has gotten too big. I have a few items that I still wear but are nearing the end of the road for me. I bought a few smaller clothing items and the are a good fit. However I think I have gotten used to wearing the loose clothes that it's hard to feel comfortable in the smaller clothes. I can't seem to find anything that is an ideal fit for what my body is currently. I have an hourglass shape but the shrinking belly turns me into a pear. So my options are to wear the bigger clothes with heels (I have to be in the mood for those) or something that fits a little tighter until I have worn it or a couple of hours and then it's kinda loose. What do I do? Keep wearing the big stuff until it falls off or keep shopping for some more ideal fitting clothing? I want the clothes I buy to be flattering but I didn't want to look like I was trying to show off because I'm loosing weight. When I get to goal I fully intend to "show off"!!

I'm right were you are and I buy a little of both. for things that feel too tight or revealing, I layer. baggy, is just baggy, but if you are an 18, and your old clothes are a 22, get a few pieces in a 20; it won't be as fitted and will give you room to manuever, but won't be hanging off you.

I have the same trouble. I never seem to be in a size, but always in an in between size. I just wear the larger ones as long as I can and keep pulling them up, but it's getting annoying. I somehow skipped over a whole size on my way up, so everything I have is definitely too big or too small, except for one pair of jeans I think I wore for a week in October of 2008. Those fit more or less, so I keep washing them and wearing them when I have to look presentable. Thankfully, I work at home so it doesn't matter most of the time. I don't want to buy anything that will only fit for a few weeks, so I'll just keep washing and wearing those same jeans until either I fit into 2 sizes down or they fall apart and I have no choice.

You might find that skirts are a little easier and more forgiving either a hair snug or a hair loose. Maybe you can get more mileage from a coouple of skirts if you have to dress better than my ratty old jeans.

You are doing an amazing job, BTW!

I buy pretty cheap so I feel ok taking them in and making adjustments. I wouldn't dare do it to a really nice tailored dress but a basic skirt? Swapping out the elastic is no big.

I've also been making some skirts to get me through the heat of summer.
