I had my consultation on Friday and signed my contract and everything. I have my Food Instruction Class next Friday. What do I do until then? They gave me a "Pre-conditioning Menu and Shopping List" that gives some directions and has a shopping list, but I'm not sure about portion sizes for meat and cheese. Also the sheet says that vegetables can be used as snacks between meals -- is it okay to have fruit as snacks?

I was over 300lbs so I can have 6 oz of meat, 2 oz of hard cheese.
I know 200 lbs and under have like 4 oz of meat I think.
Its best to use veggies as a snack.
Fruits are have a sugar content, so its best to use veggies.
You should be trying to eat as the menu/shopping list suggest and you should slowly be weaning yourself away from all caffeine.
Congratulations on your new journey. Best wishes Angela

Hi and I AM EXCITED FOR YOU.... i followed the sheet exactly and lost 8 pounds my first 8 days. The sheet should tell you what you can and can not eat but there are no portion sizes yet until you go to your first class. Only have fruit when it says you can....I wish i still had the sheet but i think i trashed it... good luck and there are plenty of folks on these boards with way more than my 6 weeks of knowledge...

Joanie -

Pre conditioning is pretty much just to get your body used to not having so much processed foods. When I started pre-conditioning they told me to be reasonable about it, but to just eat what is on the sheet in whatever quantities you want. Since the give you quantities on the carbs (one piece of 40 calorie bread, one service of melba, etc) You can pretty much eat whatever serving you want of the protein and veggies and still do great. I ate a ton of veggies that first week, when I got my first menu I ended up scaling way back on the veggie portion and uping the protein portions.
