Default ReStarting on my Food Plan after being off for 2 month's and a 1/2.

ReStarting my Food Plan after being off for 2 month's and a 1/2. Found out my Dad has Cancer end of January. They did biopsy and said not cancer, then said get 2nd opinion and they said it was cancer. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. Have to get back on plan. This emotional eating is not helping. Plus, found out my Aunt Pat's cancer is back. So it's been an emotional time. I'm going to try to exercise more too. That can help with stopping the overeating. Any more suggestions?

that's a lot of stress. sorry to hear about it.

exercise helps me. another thing I'm trying to do is hobbies and activities that help me relax, knitting, walking through the park, reading. connect with friends and relatives, that would be another thought of mine. take care.

suggestions: do you have a friend that knows how badly you want this that you can rely on? I have a few friends like that whom I can call on when all heck breaks loose and things go crosseyed.

Post signs up around your house saying "this is not an option!!!!!" not eating healthfully is NOT AN OPTION. Going off plan is NOT AN OPTION.

and above all? be kind to yourself... this is a stressful time

I've found that taking great care of myself (by exercising, eating well, plenty of rest and water) actually helps me navigate those stressful times alot easier. They always say you must put on your own oxygen mask first!

Thank You All for your Support and Encouragement.

DragonWoman64 Hobbies is a good idea. I think will start knitting again. Helps keep my hands busy. So I'm not shoving food in my mouth.

Cfmama that's a good idea with the signs and to be kind to myself. I need to call my sister's and friends more. My sister is doing weight watchers and I count calories but we talk about healthy eating.

Loser I need to take better care of myself. That's a good idea.

Beverlyjoy thanks for the reminder to plan. I think that's why I don't do as well I need to plan better.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. My Dad passed away from prostate cancer in 2008. By the time we found out it had already spread to his bones and almost all organs. I put on alot of weight during the time we found out and him passing away. It's hard. I wish you the best with your Dad and Aunt. Also good luck with the weight loss.

Sorry to hear about the stress... 2 some months isn't that long though. Lots of room to get back on track. I also think the Hobby thing is a good idea.
