Wonderful Weekend (finally!) Chat
I was tempted to put "Wintry Weekend" but I'm hoping the snow was confined to my part of the world. My daffodils are buried - the wet, heavy snow knocked them down. I don't know what they'll look like when the snow melts, but the forsythia is beautiful in a sad sort of way! lol
I'm looking forward to a weekend at home. Things are going good at my parents' and we're in touch by phone and email of course and I'm worn out. I plan to take it easy today, just a little housework and maybe a nap. We had rain yesterday, snow overnight and snow/rain/snow is supposed to continue overnight and through tomorrow so that ought to knock the pollen down enough to make me quite comfortable. I'll head south on Monday and spend most of the week there.
I hope you're waking up to beautiful weather, or at least waking up feeling beautiful!

Good Saturday morning!
Heidi, I'm sorry about your snowy weather, but happy to see you've discovered the beauty in it, too. I'm glad everything is going well for your parents for now and hope your dad continues to do OK.
It's much colder here than it's been in several weeks and the rain we had overnight has cleared out, but we're still in for a cloudy day. Jake and I are going to run out for breakfast and some groceries before Andrea brings over Amber and Tyler to spend the day with us. Since it's not raining, we're thinking of taking them up to http://www.strasburgrailroad.com/ for the afternoon. I've taken Amber there before, but this will be Tyler's first time, and I think he'll really enjoy it. He loves trains and especially Thomas.

Heidi, what a beautiful and unusual picture! I woke one Mother's Day to red tulips filled with snow and always regret not taking a photo. I'm sure your daffodils will recover - plants are tough.
Hugely busy day yesterday with baking and a meeting re finances. Soccer coaches don't have a clue about money but they are nice guys. We met from four until seven and then I started to load my baking into the car. I discovered I'd locked the keys in the car! The service guy is coming to rescue me in about 30 minutes. The baking should be at the sale by eight when the Syrup Festival starts. A male friend and his son are coming around ten so I need to get my sausage cooking shift over with by then. I sure hope he likes the scent of grease.
This afternoon Jazz and I are off to Kingston for obedience training and maybe a wee shop after Thursday's abortive trip. There's a dance in town tonight which I hope to get to. They crown Queen of the Maples and it's a lot of fun. The guys are the "queens" and are really silly!
I hope your day has fun and something pretty in that's not snow-covered.

Hello all.
Happy school vacation Heidi!
Linda - You outing looks like fun. My oldest loved Thomas too.
Ruth - Enjoy the festival.
Hi Cyndi. I hope the computer adjusts his (because surely they are male with all the frustration they cause) attitude and starts cooperating.
Kelly - Love the new picture.
Jenn - Woo hoo for DW! Tell us more about the cruise.
Chelsea - How'd you do at dinner?
We have dinner out tonight at a restaurant that someone else chose. French. Lots of crusty bread with butter that I will not be eating. I think salmon is in my future.
Have a great weekend all.

Karen, Mmmm, I love French food. They love their white flour and butter! Hopefully they'll have some good salads and/or seafood on the menu for you. I did great at dinner, my DH wanted a burger and fries at Red Robin. I got their lettuce-wrapped burger (which I'm sure wasn't low-fat, but it was the best option they had) and a salad. I didn't eat any fries, which was an accomplishment.
cottage, What a fun day, enjoy!
Cyndi, Sounds like your computer might need some coffee too.
Ruth, Queen of Maples sounds hysterical. I've locked my keys in my car so many times, I can't even tell you.
Heidi, Sorry about the snow, what a cool picture though! I hope all the precipitation at least helps bring the pollen levels down.
I'm working on prepping the master bedroom for painting today, but I don't think I'm going to actually paint until Monday when DS is at preschool, it's just so much easier that way. My mom is coming into town next weekend and she's never seen my house before so I want it to look nice.
I hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Morning Everyone
Sorry for the snow. It is suppose to be in the 80's here today. I am going to the hair dresser this morning. I am getting my colored and cut.
Debbie(lexiss) is without a computer this morning. She wanted me to tell everyone she said HI!! She should be back with a computer this afternoon.
Karen good luck at the restraunt. \
Ruth the Maple "queening" sounds like a blast!
Cottage Have a great day.
Cyndi sorry for the computer issues.
This morning was my morning to sleep in, but my annoying hubby woke me up(why do guys think waking you up is gonna put you in th mood?) He knows I am not a morning person. Then he stays in the room awake and the dogs and kids keep coming in and talking really loud!! LOL So I am getting even. LOL The kids have to have their rooms cleaned by the time I get back from my hair appt. Maybe next time they will let me sleep in. I just wanted to sleep till 7.

Hello lovelies,
Heidi, I can't believe you still have all that snow! I hope the end result is a lot of green all year!! Glad to hear your parents are doing well.
Cottage, The train place looks AWESOME!! Can I come? I hope you all have a great time!
Ruth, I hate when I lock my keys in the car, I hope you got them out! Have a great time at the Festival. lol about the Queens!
Cyndi, have a great day!
Karen, thank you! Good luck at the restaurant... I heard the bread has bugs in it and tastes like mold, you don't want to eat that right?
Chelsea, I KNEW you could resist those fries! Good for you for keeping OP at Red Robin!! Enjoy your paint prepping.
Tammie, sorry you were woken up early! I hate when that happens! Enjoy your hair appointment.
I'm heading out to a bridal shower for my cousin's fiance. Wish me luck in resisting all the delicious sweets and what not that I'll be faced with! DH decided he wants to go to see his friend who just got done with Army basic training instead of go to San Francisco like we planned. So it looks like I'll be taking the drive by myself... yuck! Hopefully I can convince one of my girlfriends to come with me last minute.
Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Earth Day, chicks. Hehe, sorry, went to Whole Foods this morning and they were having a big celebration.
I decided to change my WI day to Saturday instead of Monday, because if I ever go off plan, it's on the weekends, and I think some water retention has been throwing off my Monday WIs. Sure enough, got on the scale this morning, down 2 pounds after a 2 week stall. Wahey! To celebrate, I went out and bought a bunch of new pants - I'm officially back in a 16!

Hi Everyone!
My computer is finally up and running but I'm way behind in everything else. My CSA friend came over this AM for pesto making and I'm actually thinking of taking a nap before yard chores.
Heidi, Yikes! snow!
jennyplain, congrats on fitting into smaller clothes! Thanks for the Earth Day reminder!
KellyEnix, be strong with food.
Cyndi, thanx for the message...catch ya later!
Linda, bet you're having fun today...looking forward to an update.
Ruth, hugely busy is an understatement! Dang on the keys! Wish I could come to the dance, too. Sounds so fun!
Karen, one of my "reasons to lose weight" is "To enjoy an everyonceinawhiledinneroffplanknowingitwouldn'tder ailmygoodchoicesfortheweek" Unfortunately, I'm not at goal so I can say best wishes for staying out of foods not on your list.
Chelsea, good choice for your dinner out! Accomplishment!
Tammie, hope your hair is beautiful and the kids cleaned their rooms.

Hey everyone, taking a quick break from my work to stop in and say Hi!
It's been a rough end to the week and and its continuing to be a rough weekend. My costume design final is draining me physically and mentally. I'm taking an hour break before dinner to recuperate. The sad part is that I worked 2 hours last night and started at 10 today and I'm almost only half-way done. Ughh. Don't expect to see me around for the next couple of days. =(

Wow what a day, I am tired.
This morning had to go pick up DS tux, I picked up DD's flower for date (she still took his flower to him in the hospital and he still gave her flowers to wear as well). Then ran DD to her Ortho appt, came back did her hair and DD2 hair. I am also on call this weekend for work and had to take care of issue during all of this. Then we went and got pictures done with DS and his gf and then ran to DD1 friend house for pictures with her friends. Came home steamed clean my carpets as well. Ready for a relaxing evening.

Evening all It was an exhausting day so this will be short and sweet. The show was a bust, the town was really dead because of the rotten weather. DW decided to call it a day at 2 and we just came home. Tomorrow didn't look any better so no point spending the extra money to stay over again.
Ruth - the more I hear about your town the more I want to visit
More personals tomorrow morning. I'm beat tonight
Okay, there are a lot of creative cooks around here. The Co-op has a new salad, broccoli rabe salad. It's a heart healthy entree so low fat, nothing bad. It also has cannelini beans and sundried tomatoes. I'm addicted to it. The broccoli rabe is lightly cooked. Of course I can't find a similar recipe even on the internet. I'm going to take a stab at it soon but would love any suggestions/ideas.
My bed and a book are looking mighty tempting right now. Sweet dreams
