I'm at 694 calories for the day. LoseIt says I need 942 more (I worked out this morning)... Usually I'm struggling with hunger this time of day! I wanted something for dinner I couldn't track down and now I'm just kind of bla. I don't feel like eating anymore today.
Do you have days like this? What do you do with them? I'm afraid if I eat a little snack it'll open up the floodgates and I'll want to graze all night. I should probably go to bed in about an hour anyway.
Would you just chalk it up to a low day and eat more tomorrow or force something down?
Personally, I don't think one low day is that big a deal and I don't think you should ever force yourself to eat. Although if it were me, I'd probably have something like an instant breakfast just to try to make sure I didn't wake up hungry in the middle of the night. But if you don't even want that, I'd just leave it alone and give yourself a little bit of extra tomorrow, if you feel extra hungry, but again, I wouldn't force it then either.
Just make sure you've had enough water/fluids. We get a fair amount from our food so if you haven't eaten that much, you may be lower on that than you realize.
I was just about to post this same thing. I am at the beginning of week four and the last few days I find that I am really not hungry. It feels so counter-intuitive to force yourself to eat, which I did yesterday. What I have noticed is that as long as I make sure I have low cal food, I can eat lots and lots of it but sometimes it doesn't even add up to enough for the day.
I completely agree with everyone so far, don't force it. If you aren't hungry count it as a sign your body is feeling full and nourished and perhaps move those calories to tomorrow (I find that a low day is followed by a "nom nom" day were I want to eat everything!).
On the other hand, remember that hunger doesn't always manifest as stomach pangs--if you can't concentrate, have no energy, are unusually cranky, or are light-headed, that too may be hunger.
I ate a 100 cal popcorn while watching a movie and called it a night.
Yeah for me, hunger is usually not in my stomach... I get lightheaded and dizzy when my blood sugar is low. I wasn't feeling that either. I am mid-cycle so I assume the munchies will be back soon. I HATE hormones! I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding for the last 3 years and just weaned my DD last month. I'm betting it'll take a while for things to even out.
I had that at the start as well. Barely made it to 1000 calories most days. But realized soon that it was counter productive. At the moment I'm trying to maintain by upping my calories. I've been training intensely for about a month and was losing too much and feeling light headed so been eating more. Averaging almost 1700 now - still losing but working towards finding my maintenance calories which with my level of evercise is well over 2000 a day. I just can't bring myself to eat that much right now so working towards it slowly!
