Default Need some encouragement...starting again!

I am back. After a long break, a few years, I need to get back in control. I was hugely successful the first go 'round. Need to take off about 10-15 lbs this time. The problem this time are that I am extremely financially strapped, and a thyroid condition makes things a little bit more challenging. Any help, advice, encouragement, suggestions are all welcome! I also enjoy a glass of wine EVERY night and I know that will have to cease for at least 2 weeks in Phase 1. Thank you!!

Hi closetoshore, and welcome back. Have you started Ph1 yet? You'll be having your glass of wine again before you know it!

Welcome! I have the financial issue too. I have found that I save some $$ by shopping for my fruits and vegetables at a local farmers market (we have an indoor one year round.) Everything else I need to buy for my meals is not much more than I was spending before SB. I just have to make sure to plan my meals around what I am feeding the family so I'm not buying something different for myself. This way we are all eating healthier!

Oh, another tip for fresh fruits and veggies: Asian markets! My doctor gave me this wonderful gem. She and I have that kind of rapport when I asked if I would look weird going into an Asian market not being Asian, she said no and was right. DW and I couldn't believe the price difference for things like apples, broccoli and tofu!

Hi closetoshore and

I'm on a budget, too. I'm a super sale shopper, and am also very disciplined about not letting food go to waste. I cook all my own beans which is a huge savings, and buy my chicken whole.

Best wishes as you start back up.

closetoshore! We just happen to have a cabana boy with a fresh beach towel just for you.

Our girls have given you some great suggestions, and I hope they help. Good luck!

Hey! No giving away my cabana boy!

Welcome Closetoshore. Keep paddling and you'll get there.
