Default My first 5k!

I "ran" my first 5K yesterday! It was a snowshoe race, and even though I walked a little more than half of it (my lugs decided they didn't really want to work, too cold I guess), I am still stoked.

Never would have been able to do it before. I didn't win, but as far as I can tell, I placed third in my age group (women 20-29), 85th overall.

YAY! Good job! I am running my first race here in April. I've been running off and on for the last few months but really need to crack down. Did you follow any sort of plan, or just go for it yourself??

That is awesome! And in snow shoes??? That makes it twice as hard!

zarra- I didn't follow an actual "plan"- I mostly just do classes at the gym, and once a week I try to run on the elliptical. A friend of my basically called me up and said, "Hey I"m doing this, wanna come along?" Even though I've never ran outdoors/in the woods, in the snow, or on snow shoes, I said yes, and just ran with it, pardon the pun.

Good deal. I've tried the c25k but I feel like it was really slow paced for me. I hope on doing a 10k by the end of the year too! yahoo!
Congrats!
