Default Scale malfunction?

Hi all, I purchased my scale (a European needle-type) a couple of days ago. I noticed this morning that depending on how I stand, I get a couple of different readings and it's driving me nuts.

When I stand properly - feet flat and weight evenly distributed - it stops at exactly 105kg. When I lean to the left, it bounces around a little and goes up to 107kg, and when I lean to the right it goes down to 100kg, which I know I am not.

Which number should I be reading???? It's a little discouraging... I would really like it to be 105! LOL! Should I go with any one number? Thanks

Scales can make you nuts, the key is consistency. My scale also varies depending how I stand, where it's placed on the floor, if the batteries are low... . I keep the scale in the same spot and try to stand the same way every time I weigh myself.

Just take whatever reading you get as being your weight for the day (in your case 105kg). Even if the scale is off a little bit, it's not the exact value that's important, it's what happens over time. If you're staying on your program, then those readings will get lower.

You should be reading the number for when you stand properly. When your weight is evenly distributed over the scale the reading is most accurate because you are pushing DIRECTLY DOWN on the scale. Take you 105, for your scale, that is the most accurate reading.

If you lean to the left or right your weight is now distributed strangely and the scale will not be accurate, because not all of your weight is pushing directly down, some is off to the side. When I lean forward, the number usually goes up on my scale, something about exerting more force when leaning that way which translates to a higher number.
