I'm new here and trying to find a program to track the calories I eat each day. Which programs do you use?? And any thoughts of FitDay or SParkpeople??
I personally have used FitDay all along, and am very happy with it. I did give Sparkpeople a try, and I'm guessing my discomfort with it was mostly due to the fact that I have a ton of FitDay experience and it's set up with most of the foods I regularly eat. At that point, Sparkpeople was overwhelming to me...if I'd started with Sparkpeople, I'm sure I'd like that one too.
I started with FitDay and found it horribly confusing. I got going with Sparkpeople and found it easier to use. It just fit what I needed better. FitDay might've changed since I last tried it, but I'm a HUGE sparkpeople fan...
FitDay was the only one I'd heard of when I started, so that's what I use. I'm very satisfied with it, and have such a huge collection of custom foods now that the very thought of switching over to something else makes me tired. I did, briefly, try Sparkpeople but it just wasn't for me.
I've joined both recently, but I have to say I prefer Sparkpeople a little more. It can seem a lot more confusing than FitDay at first, at least it was to me, but now that I've caught the hang of it I like it more. But I think they are both fantastic sites!

I have used both and I prefer sparkpeople mainly because I can find more of the foods that I eat and also if you don't feel like logging in all the nutrition info off of the food label you can get it from what others have logged in and it saves me so much time. Fitday was a little more confusing for me and I would have to constantly copy things off my food label onto the fit day and its kinda hard for me to find time to do that.
i started with the dailyplate, used that for around 2 years then recently moved to sparkpeople. I like both, but sparkpeople seperates your food into meals nicely. i dont really use its fancy exercise tracking stuff or anything like that
Howdy,
I use my iTouch app, Nutrition Menu. My computer currently runs on Linux, and after the holidays I will be using an iMac.
I will want a secure place to download my data as well as storing my custom foods. Fit Day users, do you use the free site or pay the premium each month?
