Default I've made a decision

No I'm not giving up Atkins. I've decided to only follow and use the Atkins material that the great man himself wrote or endorsed. I know that I can trust it to work and I also feel that a lot of commercialism came in after his untimely demise. I have the recipes in the orange book itself and I've also found in a local charity shop the recipe book that was published around the same time.

No weight loss this week, but I've lost an inch around my waist so it's not all bad news. and best of all absolutely no carb cravings.

I could not agree with your decision more!!! Stay far, far away from anything to do with Atkins Nutritionals Inc. Their material has not stayed true to what Dr. Atkins wrote
Just remember, Atkins Nutritionals is a business, out to make profits....and....as my boss always says "business is business".
All the best to you!!!

Yeah this is newly into my 3rd week and I've only noticed a slightly smaller waist, no weight loss yet.

When I started I had several weeks where I wasn't showing loss on the scale but my clothes were getting looser. Then the scale finally moved.

Hang in there!

From what I understand the early editions of Atkins are a more traditional low-carb approach with a carefully planned increase in carbs to find the level where you still lose (and later maintain). The newer stuff is there to sell bars, shakes and other processed foods. Low carb eating in general should be largely free of processed foods because almost everything that is recommended is a whole food (meat, cheese, fats, veggies). I think going to the earlier editions makes a lot of sense
