Default Assistance needed from readers

I have been reading a lot of weight loss books this year and I've now got them all muddled up in my head. Which one advocates looking at your historical eating patterns to identify foods that you can't eat a reasonable amount of?

Could it be Eat Right for Your Type by Dr. D'Adamo? It's about eating according to your blood type, I believe (haven't read it, tho).

cary - I don't read weight loss books, so I don't know who said that. Sorry I couldn't help.

I wanted to comment on the D'Adamo book where he recommends eating for your blood type. My diet would consist of lots of meat apparently. I only eat chicken and a few fishies that taste good to me. I can't imagine cutting down on veggies like he suggested. What the ****? I think he just hopped on the "I'll write a weight loss book and hope it sells like crazy so I can get a house in the Hamptons" train.

Mandalinn, that may have been the one. I know I read that one but not the D'Adamo book. Will request the Thin Commandments from library and re-read it to see if that's the one I'm remembering.

I'm reading The Thin Commandments now and he does talk about thinking historically instead of calorically. I really like the commandments as being pithy and helpful. I previously read The Complete Beck Diet for Life and I've been working with her strategy of planning what I eat the night before. For me, that's a better implementation for most of the Thin Commandments than what is actually in the The Thin Commandments book. He does suggest planning ahead for stressful days, but I'm not sure what would get me to do it on stressful days if I weren't doing it all the time!

What else have you read and liked? I'm reading books to keep me focused on my weight loss goals.
