Happiness is a loose cassock!
When I was licensed to my current post, in mid-January 2009, I hit huge embarrassment when my cassock didn't fit. The cassock is the long, black, buttoned robe that priests wear. Mine has 39 buttons on it, traditional for each of the Thirty Nine Articles of faith of the Anglican church but a bit tight for someone who's only 5'2"! They're close together like the rows of buttons on old-fashioned gloves.
Anyway, on the night mine would button about 8 down at the top, wouldn't even meet over my bust, and as for the big apple beneath, no hope! I could button the bottom 20 or so but there was this huge gap in the middle, even breathing in didn't help. Fortunately, there's a white, lacy cotta to go over the top and cover all but I was soooo mortified. And the neck fastened but was so tight I thought I'd explode.
Fortunately, it's not the robes I wear every day, in fact tomorrow, when I officiate at a funeral, will be the first time since January. I've spent about 40 minutes ironing it, removing all the dog hairs that just attach to everything - hint: if you wear a black uniform don't buy 2 white dogs - and just tried it on.
It buttons! And to spare! I could get me AND a sweater inside it if I needed to! Woohoo! I can now be properly dressed!

As someone who's worn her fair share of cassocks in her time, I know just how good that feels. Congrats!! (though I think our priests' have 33 buttons, not 39 )

That is wonderful, just wonderful. I am so happy for you.
might I add, that now that you are back in that groove, do you hear how happy you sound? Do you? There's just a whole different "voice" coming from you. Being on plan is no hardship or burden. There is so much joy to be had. Glad you're experiencing some of it!!

This is great news. It's nice to have such a visible indicator that your plan really is working, isn't it? You do sound so much happier these past few days. I'm glad our girl is back!

That is a HUGE NSV!!!! Good for you!!
I had the same thing with my choir robe this year. I used to have to wear the largest men's size and it was tight, I had to hitch it up when I sat down and it was so long it looked idiotic. Now I'm back in a regular choir robe not dragging the ground and it's very loose, like it ought to be!

That's fantastic! Keep up the good work.
As for the pet hair- I have a black cat and a white cat- there is no winning the pet hair war.

Congrats Rosinante. I'm so pleased for you! I didn't know that about the buttons--I'm going to pass that along to my Mom. She'll be pleased to know. (She was raised Anglican).
