Default Temptation

My family hates me. They're trying to torture me.

They brought home a Dairy Queen Skor Ice Cream cake.

Skor is my favourite.

I'm crying inside right now.

Conversation:

*Door slams*
"Hey Jess!"
"Hey."
"Good news!"
"What's that?"
"We bought a DQ Skor Ice Cream Cake!"
"....... how is that good news?"
"Because you love Skor!"
"... true say. How is that good news? "

Oh no! Skor bars are wonderful.

I would tell myself that Dairy Queens, while delicious, are often a little sketchy on hygiene.

That's the best I can say to help ease the temptation.

I don't work there anymore

I hope you resisted!

I'm sure you'll hold up fine.

Even if it tastes delicious for the 8 or so minutes you eat it, you will be on this site for hours out of pure guilt haha. NOT worth it.

Here is an idea:

Hungry Girl has a dessert recipe I tried that can be adapted pretty easily.

You take one rice krispie (regular, chocolate drizzle etc), cut it lenghtwise in half, and in between scoop 2 tablespoons of your fave ice cream. (I think Skor has an ice cream right? )

Anyway, then wrap in in foil, throw it in the freezer for a few minutes and you have a delicious (and different) ice cream sammy!

The ones I made came out to ~125 calories, I made them with mint chip ice cream. Yum.

Don't even get me started on parents trying to make you fat!! My mom used to work at Arby's and she would bring home those roast beef and chedder sandwiches like EVERY NIGHT!! Not to mention apple turnovers and curly fries!! Talk about gaining weight real quick! I put on 5lbs before I knew it! Binging at night will definitely put it on you!! Now when she brings me something to eat, I fake a tummy ache and leave it in the fridge for my hubby!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

OH and great idea about the ice cream sandwiches!! I will have to give that a whirl!

Jelbb and Kayla I SO get you! My dad is the ultimate diet-buster. Between "you look great/pretty/wonderful" and implying I don't need to lose weight, he'll shove fast food under my nose every night and fill the house with (delicious) junk. I have to very firmly say "NO" for him not to get me something. Often I find myself moving pies, mashed potatoes, and burgers out of the way to get to my cottage cheese or lettuce. Gotta love family!

SO annoying. At least I'm building some serious self-control

Thanks for all the support ladies!

My mother's fairly sympathetic to weight loss efforts, because she went from 190-something lbs down to the 140s... but she was still trying to push a "portion control" slice on me, which... I really didn't need, or want.

So, I abstained! I'd been to a smoothie place earlier in the day, and had only actually drank about 1/6th of the thing (I drink/eat cold things slowly)... so I just had some more of that while people were eating their ice cream cake (not even the rest of it). And it was like.. mango, banana, some soy milk... ice.. and some fiber powder. MUCH lower calorie than a 700+ calorie piece of skor ice cream cake!

I know how you feel. My son's birthday was last weekend and my brother in law brought a cake frome Baskin Robbins. This is...we had already had a party for him where I made 50 cupcakes! Needless to say I pigged out a little both times! Yikes!
