I just joined WW online and I'm confused. It's allowing me 27 points per day. I'm 217 lbs and my goal weight is 130. When I looked on-line it gives lesser points to thinner people..it seems like it should be opposite right? Why can I have more to eat then my friend who only needs to lose 15 lbs and is only allowed 20 points per day?
It goes by height, age, weight and normal physical activity.
A larger person needs more calories in order to operate and as you go down in weight you will lose points because your body will be able to be ran on less. This will help explain it a little better http://www.thedietchannel.com/what-a...-calorie-needs
It can get a bit complicated but the WW formula works very well!
This is one of the things which kind of bites, sort of? Like, I'm glad that I'm losing weight, but it does become more challenging as you lose points. I started with 29 points and today, I'm down to 22, and maybe 21 after tonight's weigh in (fingers crossed)...
That's the way it goes. People who are overweight burn more calories. In order to keep your body from thinking it is starving (and storing fat like crazy) you need to be eating a certain amount.
As your body gets smaller, you burn less calories and so you have to eat less to keep losing.
