Default Energy boost

Hello I’ve been a little weak at the gym because I trying to keep my calories down just until I get to my goal (hopefully pretty soon).
I was wondering if someone has any ideas of LOW calorie foods that could give a energy boost to my work out and when should I eat it: right before exercising, few hours earlier...?
Every input is appreciated...

Thing is, calories = energy. Not sure there is a low calorie food that will give you lots of energy. Energy foods tend to be high in calories - that's the point.
