Default Vitamin E for stretch marks?

For years ive heard about people buying vitamin e capsules, poking holes in them and putting the liquid on their stretch marks to reduce the appearance of them, ive also been told its one of the best ways. So i went to the store today and instead of buying the capsules they have vitamin e oil for your skin. Has anyone tried this??

In the past mederma worked the best for me on my other scars, but its so expensive!

I bought some Vitamin E oil a while ago to try and minimize some scarring on my face from breakouts. It seemed to help when I was using it regularly (I've been a little forgetful lately ). It doesn't take much though, so don't go crazy on it. I used too much the first time and had my face all oily the rest of the day. Ick!

Well, I cannot swear on it because I can't quote the source, but I seem to have read an article (on Medscape maybe) saying it was proved vitamin E doesn't work when applied on the skin but only for internal use. Not sure, but a point of research.
In past I've had very good results (my stretch marks disappeard) using a cream containing musk rose oil. I know it not written anywhere that it works for stretch marks but I know it did for me!!

I tried Vitamin E for stretch marks--the capsule method--and I'm not sure if it worked or if they just went away on their own. It was very sticky and smelled unpleasant. If it does work, it probably doesn't have anything to do with the vitamin itself but with the oily parts that supple your skin up.
