Default 2 Questions: Considering giving Atkins another try

I've been reading a lot of things here at this thread and I am reconsidering trying Atkins again. I obviously did a lot of things wrong when I did it before and I read the book. I misunderstood some things or mayb I wasn't ready. I finally did a lowcarb thing of my own and almost ruined my system because I used carb bars for breakfast and ate one low carb meal mostly salads no nutrition. It was after my previous husband passed away. It has taken me a long time to get myself straightened out. I can see a lot of reasons why it didn't work for me very well for me. You can't lose weight (which I did for a while) having low carb bars or drinks for breakfast and then going 12 hours before you eat again. I was eating only 2 meals a day. I'm thinking that it would be worth giving Atkins another shot and doing it correctly so I can learn how many carbs my body will tolerate. I have 2 questions because I had 2 Atkins books and gave one away and evidently lost the other when we moved a few years ago. #1. Is it really important to have the book? #2. If so, which one do you recommend just for basics of working the program?

Thanks for your help.

Disregard, I'm not going to change what I'm doing because it is working. I need to keep doing what is working for me. And I really don't want to order another book. Thanks anyway. Have a great day.

I am a firm believer it is not only very important to have the book...but...it is VERY important to READ the book! Read, read & re-read the book until you understand exactly how & why this plan works.
I would recommend you read the original Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution (1972) & Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 & prior).

All the best to you!!!

I am also considering giving it another try. Thank you JerseyGyrl for the information you have given. Again, you look great.

I am going to re-read the book.

I am also going to "dig a little deeper" and try and find out other reasons why I eat and why I hate my body image. I know beyond a doubt that I need to work on the inside and deal with my emotions.

I know whatever I DECIDE TO DO, I will have to give it my all without any reservations.

I think that's very smart. If your health insurance covers it, professional counseling can help. We're pulling for you!

I had to confront and overcome my own demons before I could get back on Atkins after a 5-year hiatus. It can be done. It was hard, but it was the best thing I ever did.
