Default Easter/Passover Weekend

Here we go - another weekend of temptation!

I have Shirleyanne and her DD coming for lunch but first the Pypers will drop of Bailey for the day as they are going to Watertown. They'll be here for dinner on the way back and will probably end up here overnight. I hope the pizza place is still open when they get back because I'm not cooking two fancy meals today.

It should be an interesting day with three dogs and lots of company. I hope your day goes well and you manage to avoid too much food porn.

Good Morning Ruth and all!

Yes. Two fancy meals is not allowed. Hope you enjoy!

Me. It doesn't seem like Saturday, I've been messed up on my days all week! Unfortunately, I do have to work today. After that, I'm making that flourless chocolate cake for tomorrow!!! YUMM!!! That's only 1/2 cup sugar, so not so bad split into...maybe 12 pieces (it is SOOO rich!). Maybe this is only considered light porn. (we wont speak of the fat in it!)

HOpe everyone has a fabulous easter!!

Morning!

We're waiting to hear back from Dustin. He has the kids all day since Andrea has to work, so we asked them to breakfast and I want to take the kids clothes shopping as their Easter presents. Other than that, there's no plans for the day except cooking for tomorrow.

Dustin just called back, so we're going to get ready to go.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning everyone! Another rainy day here...good thing I got the crabgrass fertilizer down yesterday. Off to the grocery store soon...I can't believe I forgot to get white eggs for coloring.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend.

Good morning It's a dreary day here too, perfect for doing chores.

Ruth - Good luck with the food temptations!

Twynn - That cake sounds yummy and bad all at once I'm enjoying hearing about all the decadent treats people are making for the holiday.

Cottage - Have a fun day with the kids

Mizski - Enjoy your relaxing weekend

I've got a ton of chores to do here before I hit the road tomorrow. I suppose I should start with a list. No food porn here, we don't really celebrate the spring holidays unless DD stops by. My very supportive Mom is making lentil soup for me tomorrow night. They have been really good about having food I can eat when I'm there. My dad occasionally tries to lead me astray (the story of every diet of my adolescence) but their food choices are so different from mine now that most of the stuff isn't even tempting.

Have a good day Chicks

Good Morning Chickies,

Ruth -- What are you making for your fancy meal? I don't think I could pull one off if I tried!

Twynn -- I'll have to check out the chocolate cake. I've never had it.

Cottage -- Shopping for kids clothes is fun. My clothes, not so much.

Mizski -- I remembered eggs, but forgot vinegar. Hopefully the cidar vinegar will work. The store is 12 miles away.

Cyndi -- Enjoy time with your parents. My dad is a toot, too. Whenever I visit, he buys biscuits and the makings for sausage gravy, because I happen to make the best in the land. It's hard not to partake.

Me -- I have eggs gently boiling so Auston and I can dye them. I have to get a haircut today. Other than that, nothing exciting. Chores.

My Mom, sister and her kids are coming for Spring Break this week. I am so excited! I told the folks at work I'd need these days off before I ever started. They'll be here Wednesday. WooHoo!!!

Hope you have a hoppy, I mean happy day.

Morning All!!
Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend!!!
It is gorgeous here today, so I want to get a little weed pulling done in my gardens..My irises are blooming, but have weeds in front of them that have to go!

The weather here is gorgeous today (but a bit cool) and it is supposed to rain tomorrow.

My oldest son and his girlfriend are coming over tomorrow and I think I've about decided on having a brunch instead of a dinner since they will be spending time with his girlfriend's family later. Youngest son's girlfriend went home for the weekend. Daughter in LA won't be coming in, but is coming home next month for youngest son's college graduation...can't wait to see her!

I'm thinking a huge seafood frittata, Namaste Belgian Waffles, Mimosas and fruit should fill the bill, be "springy" and easy to fix with little clean up...then relaxing the rest of the day.

I did ok at the gym yesterday. Only did 1.75 miles on the treadmill and just arm machines without much hip/leg pain, so I guess I'm hopefully on the mend and can work my way back up to where I was...but will not go back to the glute machine since I think that's what put the strain on it ...then I topped it off with the twist!

Good morning!

Ruth: Enjoy all the company today! I'm sure it will be a fun day, but I will keep my fingers crossed that the pizza place will be open.

Twynn: Your light food porn sounds delicious! I hope your workday zooms by!

Cottage: Sounds like a great day with the kids for you! Enjoy their company and I hope you find some great deals while shopping!

mizski: I wish we had some of your rain, but DH wants to get into the garden today so I guess it's a good thing it's not. Have a great day!

Cyndi: This is the trip to NY, right? I hope you and DP have a great time! I'm the same way with most of my family; we eat so differently I don't get too tempted while I'm with them. (Although, if the Japanese grandma cooks, watch out, I'm eating!!!)

Chelby: It sounds like you have an exciting week to look forward to! I hope you are having a nice weekend!

me4life: I'm glad your neck is feeling better! Enjoy your workout!

Cat: It's great that your hip seems to be healing. I know it must be misery for you not to work out at your usual intensity. Your brunch for tomorrow sounds delicious! DH and I would love to sit in on that meal! Have a wonderful day in the garden!

Me: My back is still sore from my tweaking it on Thursday at work. We were short-handed so I ended up running postage on and mailing about 3800 letters. All that carrying, standing, twisting and turning really took its toll on my back. I'm hoping to be back to normal by tomorrow or Monday, but until then, I'll be taking it easy on the workouts!

DH and I are heading out soon for groceries for tonight's BBQ feast. We're having hamburgers. Not the best thing, but I will find ww buns and make sweet potato fries instead of regular. I'm also hoping to run in to Beall's to see if I can find a new shirt for tomorrow. Other than that, I just have some minor house cleaning, one load of laundry to do and some stuff to get together for Sunday School in the morning.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!

Hi chickies! sounds like most have busy weekends! I will be cleaning today and planning for the demolition of my house!!!! ahhh! We should be able to start ripping up carpet tonight or tomorrow and laying the backer board... I think we may try to lay all the middle pieces this weekend and then edge it next weekend, tehn tile the following weekend... that would only put my house on edge for two whole weeks... that is stressing me out already! as long as my kitchen isn't out of commission for more than a couple days I will work with it. ugh. Also, I may not be popping in here as much till we get it finished! This computer keeps me from working- a LOT! lol
My DM and DD are coming up today instead of tomorrow for easter and I offered to cook but she said they haven't been out to eat in over 2 months so they would really enjoy that- which is fine and easier to me! I just have to keep my calories low so I can have that veggie burger(chilis) tonight! I would really like to have it with swiss and mushrooms, but we'll just have to see how the day goes!

Hope you all have a great easter weekend!!!
and for all of you coloring eggs, and even those who aren't...

Today was a fun day. I dropped off Brian with his Dad this morning and I'll pick him up tomorrow night. Then I had a late breakfast with Don and his coworker and then Don and I went out to see the new trailer he's getting. And then I went to see the house they're totally remodelling. He needed to get all the tile laid today. Once he gets this done he'll have some free time but he was too busy working to spend any more time with me so I came home and spent 3 hours pulling up poison ivy and oak and some other vines.

I can't wait until we start remodelling my house. We're doing the master bath first. Right now I'm watching the Nora Robert's movie The Tribute and relaxing.

Good morning and Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

Yesterday was lovely with all the company and the food all worked out well. I do have some cake leftover but will take it to Church this morning for coffee time. After that, I have absolutely nothing planned although I may make a poster for Delta Fair. Andrea brought me a whole flat of pansies (48?) yesterday and I may get some of them planted in containers for a splash of brightness. Our overnight temps are well below freezing so I'll have to cover the little darlings at night for a while.

I hope your day is glorious!

Happy Easter!!

My DD woke me at 6...not to hunt eggs, but to notify us she peed in bed (she's only four, that's okay!). But I can't fall back asleep! But now, they're both awake, eagerly waiting for daddy to wake up and hunt for eggs!!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Easter and good morning!

We have a sunny day, but it's in the low 30s and only warming up to the 40s, so we'll have to bundle up over our Easter finery. I don't think that will stop Amber, Carley and Tyler from enjoying their Easter egg hunt, though.
We're expecting a houseful for dinner, but I'm serving it buffet style, so that will simplify everything and makes for a more relaxed atmosphere, too.

Ruth, did you hear what breed of dog President Obama's family decided on? They're adopting a Portugese water dog and naming it "Bo".

Good morning, Twynne. You all have your hunt early! That must make breakfast easy, though. Hard boiled eggs!

Good morning It's chilly here too but the forecast has improved and it looks like spring really is sticking around.

Ruth - Pansies sound lovely. My bloodroot is up - springy but not colorful

Twynn - I hope all the eggs are found

Cottage - Sounds like a lovely family day in your house.

I'm racing through the rest of my To Do list and hope to hit the road after an early lunch. I probably won't be around until Wed. night because in dial-up land it just takes too long to load 3FC (and just about everything else!).

Have a lovely spring day Chicks
