I've done Atkins a couple of times before, and I just started on it again. I've made the commitment to myself to stick with it this time, because my husband and I are both diabetic, and this is the healthiest diet for us.

So anyway, I'm reading through some of the threads on this board, and I see the "Atkins Flu" mentioned in several places, but never with an explanation of what it is. Can someone please tell me what that is, and how it can be avoided?

I will soon be on Atkins 5 years and I personally have never experienced "Atkins Flu". To my understanding, Atkins Flu is basically detoxing from sugar & bad carbs and causes a host of physical symptoms from grogginess to not being able to sleep, indigestion, headache's etc. As far as what to do to avoid it, I'm not sure what could be done...not everyone gets it.

I suppose I've had some of those things previously, but this time it seems to be smooth sailing so far.
