Red face AWW you guys!!

My hubby just called me. We had made plans to go out tonight- dinner and a movie. I picked the place to eat and had already planned online what I was going to have. Now it's 6pm and he had to help a friend with something so he's not home yet. Plus it hasn't stopped raining and I don't feel like going out anymore. So he called me and said his friend recommended this pizza place where they make everything FRESH (like slice your toppings onto your pizza when you order it) and you bake it yourself. So he wants to get one and watch a movie at home.

I start to panic. Take out pizza sounds GROSS nowadays and he's a triple meat and cheese kinda guy. But he's switching the plans to a romantic night in so I don't want to start a fight when I don't eat when he brings home. You guys know the dilemma.

So the sweet stuff starts when he calls me back and says "Hey.... You can't eat any of this sh**. You're on a diet. You want me to get something else?" I'm laughing in my head already but I know he REALLY wants to eat this so I say it's ok to bring home what he wants (thinking I'll fake picking at it and eat some soup or something later). So he starts going thru the menu and says "HEY, i'll just get YOU something on half. what do you want?" I'm thinking YAYYYY now.
Me: "pick some veggies for me- no meat"
DH: what, you want some crust and lettuce? i don't know how healthy the crust is (giggles with his friend)
Me: no, just like a supreme thing
DH: oh ok, so you don't want ANYTHING good on it, huh?
Me: haha i guess so
DH: OH. HEY. they have these deLIGHT pizzas... like chicken artichoke and bacon. i think they're lighter or something.
Me: YES! bring me that! but no bacon please
DH: ok, it looks f-ing gross so i bet you'll love it. i'll be home soon.

Ahh, I know it sounds disfunctional as **** but that was like the most uber sweet thing. He doesn't give me crap about eating differently and he goes out of his way to bring me something good. i <3 him today.

That is amazing!!!! I don't think my husband would have thought that out. He probably would have come home and cooked something. We are both being healthy. I think that is good that he is looking out for you and supporting you!!!! He is a keeper. Hey just like my dysFUNctional family I bet you put the FUN in it!!! I know cheesy.

yes that is so thoughtful..how was the pizza??...i don't even trust my bf to do the grocery shopping..yes he'll come home with a few veggies, fruit, but his other attempts at being healthy aren't the healthiest choices..for example, regular yogurt instead of light..nacho chips..coz for some reason he thought they were healthier than potato chips... I give him credit though he did try..that one time i let him shop..hahaha

oh on valentines day he put a can of Light Pringles with my present..now that impressed me and made me realize that he's FINALLY learning.

give me till tomorrow... he may do something that makes me want to pawn him off

but seriously, the pizza was DELISH! like i said, everything was totally fresh- they even make the dough right then. so my side had garlic sauce (no tomato) grilled chicken, artichoke hearts and spinach. VERY yummy. there were 5 slices of mine and 5 of his and i stuck with just 2 slices. (i had eaten vegetable soup before he got home at 8 because i felt like i was going to gnaw my arm off) but i stayed within calories, had a nice dinner with hubby and he felt all bada** because i kept gushing about how thoughtful he was :P

good times!

How sweet. Men always manage to surprise me, the moment you have given up hope all together they do something surprising and sweet.
