I know what you mean about looking forward to dinners and treats, losing weight doesn't mean you have to totally deprive yourself though. I love chips and fries so I do indulge now and then, I just make sure I don't over do it. I don't think of any foods as 'naughty'....it's important to make sure you're getting all the vital nutrients in your diet but that doesn't mean that you can't have a chocolate if you want one
If you're on a diet that requires you to cut such things out completely then it may take a little while but I've found the whole mindset of enjoying a different way of eating is something that comes with time... eating habits are just that...
habits. If you stick with a certain way of eating for long enough it will eventually become natural to you. There's a massive choice of healthy food out there which tastes really good, it's just a matter of finding what works for you. Once you get into more healthy eating habits you'll probably find that cravings for things like chocolate are considerably reduced and you will eat when you're hungry rather than to cheer yourself up.
I've also found it helpful to focus on other things that make me feel good, instead of ordering a pizza at the end of a long day I get my foot spa out... giving my feet a pampering makes me feel relaxed and seeing my feet looking good reminds me that I want the rest of my body to match and makes me not want to stuff my face... plus it's not possible to eat while you're up to your elbows in foot scrubs and creams!
A good workout always reinforces my willpower too, when I'm putting in the effort to get fit I'm really reluctant to ruin it by eating a load of junk. It also really helps get rid of stress which is often a trigger for overeating.
