If HPT = home pregnancy test....run away! Or at least make sure it's not expired. And if it comes up positive buy a regular priced one and double check. On second thought...run away!

Yeah, I'd splurge a few more dollars and get something a bit more proven, like the EPT's. But I'd definitely get a few and judge the results by a 100 percent consensus...because if they don't all agree, something's up.

I've often heard they are more accurate than the name brands. Check here

I guess it depends on if you're looking at a positive or a negative. From what I understand, it is very hard to get a false positive.

I used them with this baby and gave me a + before my period was even late.

I used 2 and got very very faint lines, so I bought a First Response, for confirmation and got a dark line instantly. I think they require a bit more HCG than the more expensive ones, so you may get a false negative or a very faint line. If you get a faint line, I would double check with a name brand one. They are pretty cheap at Wal-Mart.

Honestly-they are all the SAME. It doesn't matter if you pay a couple bucks for one at the dollar store, $4 for the equate generic one at Wal-Mart, or if you pay $10+ for a name brand one.

They all have the same paper inside of them that reacts to the pregnancy hormone in your urine.

Have used generic ones numerous times (dollar store, generic Wal-Mart or drugstore brand, etc.) and they have all been ACCURATE.
